Even better if you can keep it behind the tires AND in the center so it will hopefully miss the rear tires and stay in the middle of the car. I plan on relocating my transmission cooler to the bottom of the trunk floor with it's own little fan.

Yea but she is in very capable hands from the looks of it. makes sense about the class rules as well. Keep up the great work and hope to see it finished quickly. btw, any thoughts on a new paint scheme possibly?

Not yet. I'm wanting to learn how to do vinyl wrap or cars so I might try something like that.
Painting the whole car would be a winter project. Major time involved in that as well. I would have to make it very nice. Then I would cry like a baby if it got scratched. Thats the only reason I have not painted the car yet. If it gets a scratch now, it's no big deal.

Can anyone tell me why the steam tube is on a ls motor and what would happen if I plugged all the holes? I'm talking about the cross over tube in the heads. My buddy's alcohol bracket car is plugged but he don't drive it on the street.
Can I plug them with out problems? The backs are already plugged.

Slow progress the last few days. I had to get a 1.75" fitting for the water pump and I got a buddy welding a second tube on the rad for the steam tube.

I hope to get on some body work tomorrow and Friday.

I would not recommend that. It gets the air out of the top of the heads. If you plug all of them you will more than likely have air pockets in the heads.

I thought it was there for a good reason. Why is it ok to plug the rear?

i believe it's because the engine sets in lower in the rear so since the air bubble rise, they escape from the front. sounds logical anyway but a lot of guys don't even block the rears anymore in fear of hot spots causing detonation. at least for the FI guys, idk about the n2o guys.

I got a lot done the last two days on my car. I got the dog house in primer and the core support and cowl panel primered. The body work is roughed in. I hope to have it painted in a week or so.

Well I am just about done with the repairs. It looks great. I'm buffing the hood today.
I drove the car last night and put about 25 miles on it and the temp is right around 200 degrees. If I sit still for a long time it will creep up to about 210. I only have one small 12" perma cool fan on it. There is not enough room for both. I got the new Meziere water pump motor on it also.
Now the starter is starting to act up. I need to get one asap next week.

The car drives perfectly fine. I'm happy.

That is good to hear! Spent the last two days on mine too. Pulled the headers and am finishing up the under car wiring & plumbing.

Good luck to you next Saturday if you're able to make the NMCA Finals.

The lights in the front are temporary. I have a cool set coming in the mail.
I got the fasteners put back on the hood and started mounting the race craft rails on the fenders for the hood.

Nice Jeremy! That was quick. Only about a month! I'm glad that I'll see you at the Shootout! Maybe you will park by me again this year! Haha
