Man its not all peaches and cream! I have not touched the car in two weeks. I'm down with a cold right now and my work load is picking up big time at my shop. I gotta make that money while its there lol.
So the work will resume in a few weeks.
In the mean time, I got the Strange brakes and shocks ordered. I hope to see them in the next week and the last thing left to get is a new set of 275 pro's for this coming season.
I'm ready to see what a 1.22 60' feels like!

Man, I got more excuses than a women right now. We just got back from the power tour in my 57 belair. So we have been focused on that for the last month. My shop is blessed with tons of work right now. And weekly yard work. Not to mention my wonderful 6 year old daughter who I try to give up hours here and there to spend time with while it is summer time.
So what I'm really trying to say is I have not touched the mustang in like 3 months lol. It is seriously one thing after another..
Now that the power tour is over I am going to try to get serious about getting it back together.
I am only planning on running three races this year. Norwalk, Bowling Green and Indy. And maybe some smaller races in between those dates. I'm laying low a bit this season. So much going on right now.
Charlie, I'm sure you are starting to feel what I'm saying about the daughter part. lol.

Sad day for me guys. I sold this car as a roller to a guy in Las Vegas. The car ships out in the next few days.
I'm going to get into soming else for a while. Maybe an old truck with a turbo motor or something cool like that. Hell I'm loble to put a turbo 5.3 in my 57 belair 4 door with white walls lol.
We as in family are wanting to do more camping and traveling so we picked up a sweet travel trailer. So now in BG KY I will be staying at the campground and spectating. It's kinda fun to not have the pressure of running a car all weekend. I can goof off and screw with people more lol.
I will be back into another project vehicle soon with a LS based motor I'm sure.
But I felt it was time to give drag racing a break for a few years. Next time I will be back in a GM bodied vehicle to not limit what classes I can run it.
I will be posting the rest of my setup for sale in a few days when the car is gone. I have some nice items to sale if people are looking.
Thanks for everyone's help along the way!

Wow, hate to hear that.
That was one of my favorite cars, even though it was a Mustang. LOL.
But a pretty one. I was standing about the same place when you hit the wall last year at BG.
Scare the chit out of me.
Racing does take up a lot of your free time and kids grow up fast. Racing will always be there but your kids will be grown and gone in a blink of an eye.
Then comes grand kids!

A couple cool facts about the sale. The guy in Vegas is about 50 years old and his kids are getting to were they don't hang out with mom and dad any more. So he is wanting to get back into a car. He had a high dollar race car before kids and sold it due to kids being little and money it took to play with it.
His plans at this point are to put a 18 degree 420 ci sbc.

Love it!!!
If it were mine: Zero appearance mods except maybe a wheel change to some other factory steelies and poverty caps with the wheels painted body color or white.
348 engine bored just enough to clean it up and with a 4" Eagle or Scat crank (stock stroke was only 3.25") and some Scat I-beam 6.135" rods along with KB Forged pistons.....top it off with Edelbrock or BWR (Bob Walla Racing) aluminum 409 cylinder heads and factory or Edelbrock dual quad intake. Final displacement would end up in the 434" range. HP/TQ should be plenty and the WOW factor you'd get with the hood open!!!
Back it up with an overdrive transmission, good brakes, air conditioning, and a nice trailer hitch.....and call it DONE.

The plan right now is a alm 347 ls1/700r4 setup with a carb or efi. Not sure yet. I have a 700r4 core need built and a dirty ol ls1 laying around with many sets of heads to choose from.
