NHRA Lug Nut Regulations?

What are the rules for the studs and lugs for the NHRA for 10.50-11.00?

2.5" or 3.5" studs?

Open lugs? Or can you use the longer lugs like on Bogarts?

The stud has to penetrate into the lug nut at least the diameter of the stud...I run Bogarts with Moroso 1/2 x 20 3" wheel studs with open ended lugs...

actually, has to penetrate into the hex portion of the lug nut at least the diameter of the stud. so if you run shank bolts...needs to protrude past the lug washer at least its diameter

Same thing in IHRA. There's a picture in the rule book and people still cry about it.

so the long (but closed end) lugs that bogarts use are legal, as long as my studs are long enough, say 3-3.5"

If you want to guarintee that noone will harrass you, put long enough studs in so that they stick out the end of the lug nut. If they stick out, the tech guys will never give you a hard time about the studs.
