I would get weld-in if you plan on keeping your rear end for awhile. If you plan on upgrading later, I would do the bolt-in ones.

FWIW, I run the bolt-in ones because I broke four 10 bolts in 2007 and it is easier to just swap them back and forth.

For the SFCs, definitely weld them in.

Yeah, they don't like hard launches when they are stock.

A 26in tire, 3.50 gear and 127mph is 6700rpm with a TCI 4400 converter. If you get the car to run like it should you will in no doubt need a 28in tire. If your stock 4L60E shifts into OD on spray you will not be a happy man. TQ arm is one of the last things you need to do.

My car has a 100% BONE STOCK motor in it. All I have is boltons, suspension, and weight reduction. My valve covers have never even been off the car. My 11.40 passes were with only one o2 sensor working and the other so rich it was bogging the car down. We tuned it and picked up 30hp/28tq. Now I am at 2800lbs. 10s are in my near future with this car, and I will be doing it with only 340hp on a 8" slick.
And I have been in the 10s and past that before. It is nothing new for me or him.
I will run PSJ's car head up motor to motor eventhough he has at least 100hp over me.

Sup cracksmoka, I was over 3300 RACEWEIGHT the car is just 3090. So that means if I rode shotty last year in your 11.4 car you would have gone 11.6. And you went 116 with your stock shortblock and I went 123 with my motor. I think that's 7 mph from heads and cam, not bad right? And with a nitrous converter only 60's a best of 1.48 on motor and a 1.38 on a 150 shot.

Let's see how silly you can get when I put that ATI NA converter in there. I'm guessing 10.6@125, so that would be 9mph more than you then right?

Don't forget, I was there for most the times that Keith ran his setup, and I know how light is light in these cars.

Hi Bill I love the way you move, and your hot body.

I never said your raceweight was 3090, I said the car was. I know you have been packing on the pounds since your metabloism has slowed down. 40s are a bitch huh?

What size converter were you running on the 10.92 pass? I thought you had a 8" Fuddle? That is a motor converter is it not? A 9"-10" would be what you want for spray. You can't have both. You will definitely see a gain by going to an ATI. Fuddle is right up there with TCI junk.

If you wanna bench race, we can all day long. I went 11.42 @ 116 with a 1.47 60ft. That wasn't just a stock shortblock, that was a stock longblock. First time I ever changed my plugs was two months ago. On those passes, my tune was way off and it was running pig rich and making 310hp/320tq. We picked up 30hp/28tq after the tune and deleting the o2s. Then I dropped another 125 lbs and added an electric water pump. That has to be worth some more hp. So I should be 10.90s @ 122 with a 1.45 60ft.

Now I am at a cross road. Do I do drag brakes, spindles, and lexan to shave off another 200lbs and put the SI record at 10.70s? Then everyone will think I am cheating any way right?

I'm not scared. I still want to race you heads up

I should try to get Keith to put a stock longblock in his car and run 10.7's.

I'm looking forward to watching you run 11.15-11.18 for most of the year Matt.

not to hijack the hijacked thread....

but would it be a good idea to run a 275/60/15 on a 10" rim? or is that to narrow of a tire? looking at the ET street radials.

Oh, I can't let this one pass.

Should I look for a picture of you in Swamp Rats Hall of Fame the next time through Florida? Or are you expecting to be added to the list soon?

I talked to tech at MT and he told me 9.5 max.

Then I talked to PSCA racers that use the 275/60/15 and have run in the 7's with them and they use a 10 in and some go 12 with beadlocks. I went with a 10 in Billet Specialties Streetlite and they look alot better than an 8 in rim.

thats what my thinking was.
