275/60/15

With the 275/50 you will run out of gear.

I'd also run the 275/60, more sidewall and less drag.

275/60 since you are planning on spraying the car.

Yes, I do. My stock internal car has a 4400 stall with 3.73s and a 26" tall tire. I hit the traps at 6100-6200. He is hitting it with a 100 shot AND has a cam. He will need it unless he is shifting the car at 5500.

All I know is that my friend Hacker Joe went 127 on 26's nothing crazy on the rpms shifting at like 6200.

Different view, I am going about 134mph on 28's, 410's, 150 shot, shifting at 6800.

I run the 275/50/15s with a Yank SS3600 and 3.73 gears. On the 125 shot, I'm crossing the line at about 5600rpm. BUT, my nitrous doesn't come on till 4k. I'll be lowering the on point to help flash the converter higher and use up the rpm that I'm leaving on the table. We'll see what happens, maybe the 275/60s are in my future too.

Your times seem weird to me. As in, slower than they should be. You gained .85 in E.T from a 125 shot? How much power does the car make? What are you shifting at? How much converter slip? What is your shift extension? What does your converter flash to?

Mine makes 340hp, and on my 11.40 passes, shifting at 6450, I was seeing the 6100-6200. I have 12% converter slip, it flashes to 5000 off of a 4000 footbrake, and I am seeing 700rpms of extension. If I put even a 100 shot on my car, I would need a 28" tire.

Last time on the dyno it made 353 unlocked with the new Yank. On the bottle it was 468, so I quess it's really a 115 shot. Pegged the A/F at 10/1 so there some adjusting to be made. On the motor it traps at 114 and on the bottle it's 122. The 1-2 shift is 6400 and the 2-3 shift is 6300. The converter flashes to almost 3600, and after the shifts it doesn't drop much. How much though I don't know. This set-up is still fairly new to me and have only made 4 nitrous runs so far. Still trying to figure out what the combo wants.

I run 122-123 mph NA, with 4.10's and 28's and I need more gear or less tire. I think you should stay with 26's unless you are trying to hook better on the street or street race the car.

Actually my post is way too general. For my high rpm camshaft, I need more gear and more converter to run say to it's potential NA. For nitrous, I'm fine. In fact I might spray a 200 shot just to see what it runs at the very beginning of the season.

But you don't really need 28's, do you have adjustable shocks all the way around? I would do those first.

I'm sorry John, but you really have no room to talk. You are about 100-200lbs heavier than me and have at least 100hp on me N/A with your forged 347, TF heads, and monster cam, and you run about what I run E.T. wise.

But what do I know. It's not like Bill and I have some of the fastest cars in the country for what is done to them.

I said NA. Did you not read what I said? You have easily 100hp more than me. NA. We run the same NA.

We run the same NA? I don't get it. You are 3100 raceweight and 11.4, I am 10.9 and say 3300 raceweight maybe a lil more. Same would be that I would run 10.7's at your raceweight or you should run 11.6's NA at my raceweight right? I'll still don't get your point.

And you never will obviously. Keep staying slow, we get a lot of laughs out of that sponsor built car that would get landed on by cars with 100hp less.

Don't bother coming over to Juggerland anymore and asking Bill and I why your car is so slow. You will never listen.

camaro_best:

Sorry for the thread hijack bro. I just don't want you to get the wrong info from someone like PSJ who knows nothing about setting a car up right. I would hate to see you buy the 275/50s and then bang the limiter or have to shift into 4th because you needed more tire. Also, hooking up with stock suspension, spraying a 100 shot on top of a cam only car is asking for the car to not hook up. There are guys going high 5s in the 1/8th on the same tire I use, the 26x8.5x15, but those cars are geared differently. Unless you shift your car at 7000 rpms, and your converter is 2% efficient, you will need the 275/60s.
