I always hated bracket racing on street tires when they would prep the track between rounds.
the sweet spot is where peak torque occurs. Unfortunately you can't launch that high on street tires. So the ticket is to launch as close to it as possible (in order to cut a good 60') which is a function of track prep.

Now if you are bracket racing w/ street tires and you want to win at bracket racing w/ street tires, the smartest thing to do is to forget about your 60' and therefore track prep and just worry about being consistent by launching as low as possible.

Well..I found out it's pretty much just me sucking...

The Fiancee drove the car at the last track rental and busted out a 1.99 60ft and numerous 2.0x 60fts through out the day (she had 27 passes in), I made about 5 passes and 2 2.0x 60fts (track is using new compound I think because I've never seen a 2.0x 60ft in the past 7 years of going to the track), but the rest were 2.1 60fts as usual.

Does alititude, thus lack of power, going to adversly affect 60' times? I was on my 285 nitto street tires, and 8 of 9 passes have been consistant 2.3's. The other one was a 2.5 becuase I popped the clutch not paying attention, and bogged. My first 5 passes ever, spun and wheel hopped to 2.3's every run, and same going into second gear. Next 4 passes, doing little burn outs to clean off the tires, no spinning, no bogging, no wheel hopping, same results. First runs were clutch pops, second time (last 4 made yesterday) were attempting to slip the clutch. So keep practicing? Or does alititude really affect it. The track is at 3000 feet.

DA of 3200ft and I still pull the same 60s...I just run 3 ~ 4 tenths slower and lost 2 to 3mph off my traps vs the DA we normally have (around 0)

I have gotten a best of 2.17 stock on 245/50r16 Fuzion ZRi and 1.98 stock on 275/40r17 BFG Drag radials. M6 car trying all kinds of things at the line. Just need to find that sweet spot.

I like it! I just got my best 315 DR launch last week of 1.92. It still bogged a little at 4500 clutch dump, so there is more. LOVE my MIDWEST CHASSIS torque arm.
