![Question](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I just got a 98 Z28. It is going to be a track only car. (it might hit the street 2-5 times a year) I just got done taking every bit of the wiring out of it.
I have been looking at the painless LS-1 Wiring Harness/99-02/Ext. Length
http://www.painlessperformance.com/w...rchField=60509
I am not keeping the stock computer, and I am wanting to mount a new computer under the dash What computer should I use? is there an after market on out there?
Does anyone have any pics of this in there car? I just need to know how to wire it all up and how to mount the computer. Also should I buy the Chassis Harnesses?

Well if your doing away with the stock computer, most use the fast xfi or BS3 which would have their own wiring. Now I don't know about what they require or if they include a fuse block or anything.
I would ditch all your wiring and start over like I did. You only need 4 or so 15-20 amp fuses to run the motor and a couple relays for the fans and whatever else you need. The easiest route is probably a painless chassis harness with just a few circuits (8) for lights, fuel pump, and other things. They have one that plugs into the stock ignition plug. Or you can get the race wiring harness that comes with an 8 switch box and do away with your keyed ignition. There is many ways to go on this one.

So I should run either the fast xfi or BS3 and get a painless chassis harness and I will be good to go?
where all can I find the fast xfi or BS3 I looked at fast's website.
Edit: WOW! there high lol. I'll have to keep saving if I do run one of those.

Why not run the stock computer and pull the junk out of it? That's what I did.

That's a good way to go. You will have to completely move your wires around to get the pinout correct for the 99+ computer though. Everything is moved around. No biggie with the pinout diagrams though.
