Default Mickey Thompson gave me some junk ET Street Radials

Let me start by saying I was a HUGE fan of Mickey Thompsons ET Street Radials... Well I bought a set about a month ago brand new (won't name the sponsor because they've tried to help me)... I have put just shy of 800 miles on them and about 3-4 track passes...

Well lately I have noticed them feathering up something terrible and they actually fall apart as I drive down the road. My buddy who was following me a week or so ago said that as I drove through town it would just leave black marks on the road quite often (and no i wasnt doing a burnout) With 800 miles on my car they are almost completely gone (treads are almost flat with the rest of the tire). I'm thinking I have a bad set of tires because my buddy who bought them at the same time as me and has taken his car to the track more and cruises with me everytime we go out still has more then half tread left... and he's driving around on a spool!

Now I'm not one to complain and throw a big fit but this is unheard of as my last set went for about 7000 miles and I put about 30-40 track passes and tons of burnouts on them. So I called Mickey Thompson Monday and have got nothing but the run around. There customer service is **** poor and they have no care in the world for the little guy (who just paid $400 for a set of tires and would intend to buy them as every set in the future). The sales rep even said that these should get 3-5000 miles. Had I got that much out of them I'd be MORE then happy. Hell I would have bought a regular set of ET streets had I known these were gonna wear out so fast! The next representative claimed that my car was "too heavy, and the heat from the road was ruining the tires"... Sounds like a runaround to me. If this was true my car which weighed more last year would have done the same thing as they did this year to the tires. Anyways I'm getting nowhere so far. Can anyone help me,

I dont have the money to buy another $400 set of tires that I thought would last me most of the year as it is. If you could supply me with an email/phone number of someone higher up in the company or anyone that could help that'd be great!

Heres a few pictures of these junk defective tires i got... remember this is after only 800 miles... and about 4 track passes!

They look normal for being driven on the street. . Have you had the rear end checked for square??

It also depends on the road surface. There are different road surfaces all over the United States, some smooth, some rough. Concrete roadways will eat tires much quicker than asphalt roadways. It all depends what the roads are like where you live/drive.

When did you first put these tires in question on the road? Were the tires ever subject to freeze/thaw?

The feathering looks normal, maybe not from 800 miles . The problem is proving to MT that you only have 800 miles and 4 track passes. I have a customers car here that has about 15 passes and 100 miles and they look similar. But we beat on this car (it 60fts in the 1.2?s. )

And yes a crazy burnout will tear the tires up quickly.

^I made enough posts that everyone will see this... BTW this car is no huge hp car that would destroy tires... IT made 385 at the wheels... Best 60' so far with these this year is 1.8

street driving makes them chafe like that do a burnout on them and they clean right up....
id say they wore out fast but burnouts make a huge differance in that and do does if the rearend us square alignment spool ect

My street driven ET street radials feathered like that from launching. Mine still have some decent tread though.

I was saying that a friend of mine did about a 1/4 mile long burnout just for the hell of it. The tires looked just like that and wouldnt come back to life. He said that it happened before (cant remember if he said him or someone else though)
