Going to the drag strip in 1hour 30mins
its my first time im trying to get a good idea of what my car runs its bone stock so i thought i would see where im starting from tonight. is there anything i need to know or be ready for

breakdown of the car? tires? ect
id guess street tires dont do a huge burnout jsut clean them off basically...
roll into the 1st beam let the other guy do the same. then stall it up slightly if auto bump into the second beam, go when you see the 3rd yellow...
if a 6 speed roll into the sencond bulb, rev to about 2500 on the 3rd yellow sli[ the clutch quickly while applying more gas

From: Gainesville, Florida # of drag strips runs: ?!?!?
read here: www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699837
Depending on traction, transmission, driver ability and air quality, should be anywhere from 12.90s to high 13s, maybe even 14s with crappy traction and a stick if you can't shift!
Good luck, have fun and post up the results in the "Drag Racing Results' section

One thing i can't stress enough is don't get frustrated if your not mid 13's your first run. It takes some people more practice than others. I'm still trying to launch my car right, my best run is only a 13.8. Many factors come into play though, temp, tire pressure etc...

that was the funest **** i have ever done i ran a 13.64 with my r/t being a .022 not bad i dont think im all stock and had a full tank of gas and traction sucked ***** my worst time was a 13.74 both times were over 100 MPH

What track did you run at?? I used to race my duster down at Temple & also prarie hill.

I'll assume that 13.66 was your earlier run when it was hotter out because your mph was slower, those are some nice MPHs, is the car an Auto or stick? That 104 is a solid 13.0 with a good 60ft., if not a 12.9, once winter comes you'll be even faster, you should gain 2 mph no sweat, then your solidly a 12 sec. car at 106+, congrats!!

Congrats, not bad at all for you're first time out. And you had fun, that doesn't happen with everybody . A pair of drag radials are a GREAT thing to have, especially if your local tracks prep is less than desirable. I'd say pick up a pair (or with all the dr's on backorder now, maybe look into a spare set of rims and get a pair of slicks). Good luck.
