Default one goal.....a wheelstand

I run 7.65 in the 1/8th with a 1.67 60' time on the bottle. I have the rear suspension set up and it's frame tied with the front. I need to know what shock and spring to put in the front to pull a wheelstand. I drive about 20 miles to the drag strip on Saturday, and that's about all I use the car for. It's almost there right now (just got a set of Stock eliminator radials), but it's stubborn. I've got the v-6 towers in the front of it right now.
Thanks
Wayne

strip as much as you can off the front of the car (forward of the driver seat) add about 200lbs in the bumper...

what year is the car? assuming its a 4th gen, get QA1's for the front and run them all the way loose. lca relo. brackets, and a short torque arm should do the trick, as well as pulling as much weight as possible. atleast that was my set-up when a couple years ago when my car only made 470 rwhp and did some nice wheelies.

You are running a tight converter and small gear (for those 30" tires).

Without adding 150 shot or doing engine work, you'd need more converter and/or more gear. I'd go 4600 Yank + 4.57's that car would leave mean.

Default only front shocks

Thanks for the help, but I just need to know what people are running for the front shock tower. The end goal is C/SA, so a moser 12 bolt and metric 200/racing converter are in the works. I just wanted a set of front shocks so I could have some fun right now.
Thank you,
Wayne

As mentioned a few times already, get QA1 shocks. Set the fronts to full loose.

Default just lift

I just want to lift it up. I don't have the trans, converter, and gear to stand it like a stocker yet (yet). I just don't hardly have any weight transfer in front. The rear lifts and loads like it's supposed to, but the front just kind of sighs. I looked at the qa1r's last night on summit's website. Anybody running the 275 springs with the r's? I was wondering how you liked this setup. Also, what are you guys running for an adjustable ta bar? I already have a hoop. Are they pretty much the same or is one a little better than the rest? Also, anybody want to setup for a 30x9 drag radial, I'll post pictures of the cuts I had to do to the bumper and quarter panel. The little girl picked up .09 (60') from a 28x10 MT to a Hoosier 30x9. They really hook now.
Thanks for all the help guys,
Wayne

I'm running 275 w/ R's. I like it with the shocks set on 2 it lifts pretty easy. I do not have a front sway-bar so I turn them up to about 7 or 8 on the street to help keep the front down in turns. Also have a spohn rear sway bar.

Not to hijack my own thread, but you bring up an interesting point. Does anyone know what stock eliminator cars run for a gear with a 200 metric transmission? I'm getting ready to buy my strange 12 bolt and convert this to a C/SA car and need to know what gear most of them run. I've "heard" (sounded like a conjecture) from people that it's in the neighborhood of 4.56 to 5.12. I want it all balled out at the end of a 1/4. You are right though about the tires. It used to shift third with a 150 ft left in the 1/8. Now it shifts about 75 ft from it.
Thanks guys,
Wayne

Pulling a wheelie, yeah it's a good picture (note my sig) and yeah, the bumper drag mark is a conversation piece, but honestly, it's really not that great. I was lucky, I repeat LUCKY that I didn''t mangle my car when I did it.

I wouldn't reccommend doing it, ET's win races and it's alot of wasted time and energy.

I know what you mean. I don't have a picture of my wins or my .000 lights up, but I'll have a picture of a wheelie in my sig in no time flat. To get back to my original question though, I've got my heart set on the qa1r's and the 275 springs. Too bad that QA1 doesn't pay contingency. Is there anything else I have to buy ie- a package to install them? Do they get put together just the way an OE set would? I 'm not allowed to relocate anything.
Thanks for all the help guys.

they install just like stock ones, with the 275 lb springs you don't need the spring cups, one thign I would get, is the thrust bearing to go between the wpring and the collars, that way you'll have a way easier time adjusting them for the desired ride height.

One other thing, if you're gonna remain at a modest to low power level that I have seen super stock cars run are what's called a pete z bar. it essentially turns the rear control arms into little ladder bars, and that will definately make the car stand up.

If you are going to run C (I assume you have an LS) you need to weigh 3446. That will require a gear that is around 4.88 to 5.14 depending on the trans(I know you said a 200), converter, and the power level of the engine. Buy both of them and try. Don't get the aluminum spool in the 12 bolt.

11.70 is the C index. The fast guys are in the 10.30-40s

If you cut the rear quarter you may have a problem with the inspectors.

SA is a class where the internet will not help you cut your learning curve. Anybody who is fast is not going to share, at least anything that sets them apart. You will find out in short order that it is not the parts you buy it is how you work with them.

Pete (Z) Zawadzki Apple Tree Enterprises 315-483-6412 or MPR 810-798-8998 for your front springs, shocks and bolt on bars.
