Default VFN Extended Hoods- Firebird & Camaro

Well today our (Trigger and myself) hoods got dropped off, I took them out of the crates and set them on. They should look good once fitted prepped and painted.

Enjoy.

I like them, but those are definatly racecar hoods. That would suck *** to have to drive that on the street.

I would also wager that he doesn't need ANY of the clearance, and this is coming from a guy who puts 4" hoods on everything he owns. Cowl hoods are cool, but those are race car hoods in the pics. If you have that hood and run slower than mid 9's I'd laugh.

The camaro one is fine, although it too is a race car piece, at least you can maintain some visibilty.

Anymore alot of race classes are requiring wipers. I plan to do drag week at some point, I'll need those wipers.

They both look good. How is the fit on the camaro hood. Do you see any potential fitting issue's once you get to actually lining them up?

Camaro396- is there any way I could get you to take a pic. of the firebird hood where it meets the wiper cowl, like the last one of you're camaro.

You would be surprised how tall the carb setup is, with the hat on it.

Will do, we actually removed the wiper cowl on the firebird, but if it was not for the intake/carb setup, i think it would have been fine to leave it on with the hood. I'll get a pic asap though.

Thanks guys!

TS6, to each his own, the hood is needed to clear the single plane and carb. I'm sure I could have went an inch or so smaller though. Not a big deal to me, I like the way the car looks. The car's only purpose is to go down the track, I'm not out cruising the car all over or anything like that.

My bud had that Firebird hood, not the extended since it wasnt a lift off, it got some oohhhs and ahhhh, and some WTF!? I am always been a fan of functionality and if the room is needed, then thats the point.

Looks like some fittment needs to be done as the corners have the rubber cones on each corner.

As posted earlier, this hood was taken out of the crate and tossed right on. Its just sitting there, not mounted or anything...it will be fine once aligned and mounted.

I will get the drivers seat picture today.

The hood was pulled out of the shipping crate and set on the car, you are correct it's going to take some slight work to get it to sit perfect.

Tektrans, I'll get a pic from the drivers seat tonight. It shouldn't be too bad. The car is a track car that will see very little if any friday night / saturday night cruising.

I wouldn't say a lot of race classes require wipers....I've never even heard of it. But I'm not saying it doesn't exsist. You're gonna have gay classes like that everywhere....windshield wipers, full interior...etc. ****, I'm sure there are classes out there that require a/c to be installed and functional. My point is, if he was worried about entering into classes that require windshield wipers, he would have gone with a different hood. Obviosly he's not, so what's the difference.

Anyway, I love both looks, and plan on going with the VFN extended Sunoco for my SS when the new 408 goes in. And yes, I will need the room with the Super Victor intake and Accufab 4150 throttle body.
