Default TR 224 Results / video and graph

Had my 2002 SS tuned by Mike Norris. Mike's a great guy and did a great job on the tune, I'll be using him when I need another tune in the future.

List of Performance Modifications: 2002 SS LS1 M6 , Thunder Racing 224 on a 112, KOOK's Headers (Ceramic Coated), KOOK's catted y-pipe, SLP Loudmouth 1, SLP Lid and smooth bellow. Also replaced fluids right before dyno along with spark plugs. Fluids used: Mobil 1 10-30, GM Synchromesh Transmission fluid, GM diff. fluid with 1 additive.

Numbers are probably pretty good for the mods., I was just hoping for one of those screamers that would put down 400. Nothing more money can't take care of...

Nice runs. That's about where I expect mine when my WOT AF is brought from 12.0 up to 13.0ish. Mine made 363rwhp/371rwtq (SAE) with the TR224 112, LS7 clutch/315 ZR1s, at 12.0AF at the last dyno day. I haven't had a chance to get more time on the dyno to lean it out yet.

I think my heads might be holding it back though as my curve drops before your's does.

Awesome bro! Put a pulley on there with the cam and P&P your TB and you'll pick up some more ponies. Mike is a great guy, can't wait to have him install and tune my new heads and cam coming up soon.
Props to Norris!
Those ZR1's look good on your car, are those the 11's in the rear? Once I can sell my whells, I'm going balck ZR1's too.

Gotta love that 224 torque curve. It's a shame all cams can't make a beautiful straight line like that.

Numbers are very respectable! I always loved the powerband of my TR224. I ran that cam for 4+years until I sold the SS.

In 03 I made 399rwhp @ 386rwtq with stock 241 heads, TR224 112, all bolt ons ASP, PTB, LTs, ORY, QTEC etc....

I then added a QTP catted Y and redynoed at 389rwhp @ 37? rwtq, so your cats are holding you back a few along with no PTB or ASP pulley.

TBH, I'm surprised the numbers aren't a bit higher. Your setup doesn't look that much different than mine (mods in the sig). Is there really that much of a difference between cars with similar mods?

The car sounds strong on the dyno, and I'd wait to see trap speeds before I get too disappointed in HP numbers. I haven't run mine yet, either. I tend to think I've created a dyno queen.

Mike's dyno is not known to be very generous, so the numbers could be higher on another dyno.

OP, I think you did ok considering you're missing some bolt-ons.

They're 17" x 9" all the way around.

Our set-ups look almost identical except for the catback, which I would think the loudmouth should be slightly more free flowing. You must have one of the stronger cars from the factory. I even put in fresh fluids and plugs hoping I could get to 400, to far off for that to be the hold back though.

Don't the standard numbers factor out all that and show what the car really has?
