Smile FWIW, TEA 1.5 vs. 2.5 +90RWHP

Initial dyno tests were completed Friday. To refresh what we did, we took the Judson port, shrunk it .030", ran it through an LS6 head, so we could run a 2.05 intake valve. The full flow numbers are at this link with and without intake attached. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/111789-fwiw-my-new-tea-stg-2-5-flow-s.html
We ran our nitrous exhaust port program and then I personally hand finished the heads, tweaking the exhaust port like I do on our heads up competition nitrous stuff. I did not post the exhaust flow numbers because someone would call BS. At .400" the exhaust went 240 cfm and at .500" it flowed nearly 270 cfm, with a PIPE. We ran the Weiand (Holley) aluminum intake, pulled the stock harmonic balancer and replaced it with a ATI underdrive unit and pulled the stock rockers in favor of some new Harland Sharp rockers that we have been working on. We dyno'd the car Friday and headed out to the shootout.
To refresh what we have done with my 3400 lb C5 at 520 RWHP (TNT 150) it went 10.50's @ 128.5, with a dry shot added it made 560 and ran 10.07 @ 133.5, we revamped the dry shot and it made 600 RWHP and we ran 9.87 @ 138.9.
First pull it put down 690 RWHP through the unlocked transmission at 12:1 A/F, we fattened it to 10:1 and it still made 680 RWHP. We took it to the shootout and broke the $3000 Rossler transmission within 30 feet of the starting line.
So my question is if we picked up 5 mph for each 40 RWHP we picked up does this mean we are going to run 148-149 in the quarter? I quess we'll have to wait to see.

Hey Brian and Brent, do you need a N/A motor to try those heads on. That's a heck of a gain. Congrats.

Racetronix in tank pump only, time for a boost-a-pump!

Bruce, you definitely have the car to test it on! You made how much RWHP? 430 something and you've run almost 125? Thats stout, I guess the extra 15-20 RWHP and 15-20 RWTQ would help that thing right into the 10's!

Did you check the HP difference NA with these over the heads you had on there?
I'll be calling this week about my new heads and these are looking like the ones to have, but I won't be putting the bottle on my stock shortblock

Also - sorry to hear about the bad news at the shootout.

whats is the HP gains I schould expect from TEA stage 1.5 heads.. and a 224 224 581 581 with a 112 lobe

I put this set up on my 02 ls1 6 speed and it only gained
about 50 rwhp on MTI dyno with tuning..

The car made 350rwhp with just mac midlenght's and a cat back and intake.. and 373

after heads and cam i had 397rwhp and 396 torque

what is the prob..

Sounds like TEA has brought out the in the horsepower battles. I think some folks are going to get that have low cost packages and high dollar ones too.

The results are 90rwhp gain wow!

The heads with the big nitrous exhaust port, which we we just hoping to break even naturally aspirated, we picked up 15-20 hp & tq (with unlocked converter) across the board. I can't wait to see what it will do N/A with the small exhaust port!

LOnSLO it was nice to meet you as well. It was nice putting some faces with the names. Hopefully the car will be done in a few days and at the track this weekend doing some testing. If all goes good we will be at the GMHTP shootout in texas.

Something doesn't sound right to me, I have seen guys make close to 450 RWHP with that cam and our 1.5 heads. That cam with our 1.5 heads on our dyno in a stick car has made more power then anything stock displacement we have tested. It is very hard to diagnose something long distance. I think the guys at Speed Inc made big power with that combo, and the guys at GMMG have as well, you may contact them to see if your entire combo meshes well, as well as maybe some more tuning, I think Alan Futral at Futral Motorsports got another 25 RWHP on a combo that was already tuned by someone else. Hope this helps.
