yep the stock manis made a difference alright, along with changing the sts intake piping... I was thinking that I would lose power thru the stalled a4 and new 9" rear end, but I was happy to gain some!

I need to wash this bish so I'll take some pics of the changes this weekend and post them up. There are some already on my CarDomain site, but none of the engine bay yet.

From what ive heard manifolds are suppose to be better and help build boost

Is any of the system heat wrapped?

I would assume manifolds and a slightly smaller diameter exhaust would raise exhaust gas velocity which would help with turbo spool up and possibly boost too.

How long have you had the kit? You happy with it? What size turbo are you running?

Edit: Saw you're running a 67mm.

You only lose boost on supercharged engines when you swap the stock man's for the lt's, because the stockers slow the flow soo much that they make the burned air hang around causing more boost. Now with turbo cars... They love air moving in and out as fast as possible because that turbo will spool up more with the increase of airflow. So adding heads or cams or lt's won't hurt boost or power just add more!!! So those lt's helped out a lottt, increasing airflow in and out adds more power! just my .02

No, he took the LT's off.

It picked up with the manifolds because the manifolds hold heat better and heat is whats spins the exhaust turbine.
Thats why in nuetral a car wont build boost if you hold it at a steady 3,000 rpm, but at that same 3,000 rpm going up a hill, it will, because load creates heat.

Nice work tweaking your setup!

I have had the kit on since December of 2006 and have put roughly 15000 miles on it. For now, I am happy with it but the base kit has needed numerous changes for it to perform. It has taken me the past 2 years to fix all the little things, but the car is much more responsive now and a blast to drive.

The only thing i every worry about is the oil return pump going out on me... When I get the chance i plan on replacing the sts pump with something better and more reliable

Yes i removed the LT's.... and just changing that improved throttle response a ton! The car also feels a LOT stronger than before when in boost.

looks nice!!! I fergot how much extra stuff you have to pack in there for those turbo kits, even though they are sitting in the rear.

wow, that turbo is very low to the ground, it would be tore off in 5 minutes with the roads around here.

yes, it used to be LOW. That last pic was taken the day I drove it home from the mechanic after the kit was installed. There was only like 2" of ground clearance.... It has been fixed since then and tucks up much higher now. Nothing even comes close to hitting it
