Default 408ci,L92 heads with Cary's carb intake #'s

Been meaning to post this for a while

Just a mild little street car setup

-408ci 6.0L block setup
-FMS stage 2 L92 heads
-FMS custom hyd cam
-Yella Terra rockers
-Morel HI-RPM tie bar lifters
-11.4 CR
-Perf Induction L92 carb intake !
-Accufab 4500 T\B
-ARH 1-7\8" to 2" stepped headers
-FMS 3-1\2" custom y-pipe
-Rossler TH400
-Yank Elim 3600 converter
-Strange 12-bolt w\3.73 gears
-Strange Chromemoly driveshaft
-'98 PCM w\SD tuning


Dyno runs were done through exhaust, 275\60-15 M\T drag radials,factory water pump and full acc belt on and with 93 pump gas ! Cam is under 240 on the intake and idles SWEET at 850 RPM !

sorry if this is a completely stupid question, but are those numbers on an engine dyno?? What was the lift on the cam?

reason I ask is those are pretty wicked numbers for an auto, small cam (for a 408) and 3:73s if those are whp.

did you guys do the shortblock?

again, futral does it again!

that is a chasis dyno, so the numbers are at the rear wheels.

futral, we exchanged pm's a few months ago, you guys never got back to me on an iron 5.3 shortblock to a 346 with a forged bottom.

Sweet power. That is well over 600 rwhp with a manual transmission.

These are chassis dyno numbers(RWHP). .630"\.620" Yep we built the complete motor.

best my car made with a similiar combo was 475 or so RWHP.

my engine setup right now is close to yours,

the old setup was
-408ci 6.0L block setup
-TSP cnc L92 heads
-TR LS1 head cam
-Yella Terra rockers
-11.9 CR
-gm L92 carb intake
-edelbrock choker elbow
-kooks 1-7\8" headers
-kooks 3" to 2.5" slip fit into 3" catback
-T56
-spec stage 3+ clutch
-7.5" 10 bolt w\3.73 gears
-'98 PCM w\SD tuning

made 503rwhp

now i am using a different cam
morell tie bars
stock l76

gonna get a good setup before i dyno it again


I am impressed with your setup, its the highest hp 408 LS3 car ive seen yet
