The downpipe probably won't make much difference on the backpressure. The backpressure is probably due to the .96 housing and ptrim wheel on the MP70. My turbo should be up to the task on my truck but my STS setup is killing me.

o ok i got ya... the turbo exhaust housing my be the restriction........ the boost drops a little then goes back up but i dont see how the slight drop for a second would kill over 100hp instantly.

idk, im not an expert.. keep me updated on how the bigger exhaust housing works!

the car seems to pull alot harder now....

4l60E 45-100mph 5.953 seconds
th400 45-100mph 4.563 seconds

not bad thats a 1.39 second difference on a 45-100mph run!!!

I did a 0-100mph pull with the th400 and it did it in 7.363 on the street! So i figure i should be able to hit my goal of 10.5 at the track next spring!!!!!!!!!!

i think the problem was the tranny... but no way to tell till i get to the dyno again. I havent had a chance to run the car up past 5500 in 3rd yet so its hard to tell if the problem was the tranny or not.

I can say the th400 was an AWESOME upgrade and i have NO regrets.... o ya the Transbrake rocks to!
Sounds good. Let us know when you get a chance to do a top end pull.

It's not valve float, the dyno curve wouldn't drop like that.

It's not ignition, ignition would show up in all gears at
same load/rpm.

Fuel pressure/supply will show up in higher gears, usually not in first, some
times not in second because really high performance cars accelerate so fast that they won't respond to a fueling problem in the lower gears. The bigger the fuel supply problem the sooner it shows up. Your fuel problem is half bad.

Take a good look at your fuel system.

But in all my years, I've been surprised before. Never let your imagination run away, stay with the basics. It'll save you time and money.

Still havent had a chance to do a top end pull guys....

I have a dual in tank walbro setup, both pumps running all the time.... but am still running stock lines...

i havent hooked up a fuel pressure guage yet but alot of guys have made alot more power than i am making with the same fuel setup so i never bothered... also my afr is staying good all the way through the rpms.

I might just check the fuel pressure for peace of mind also.

might get to do a top end pull next week!

i want a fuel guage in car anway... can anyone suggest a cheap fuel pressure guage? I am running 2 5/8" autometers in my vents for boost and tranny temp. would like a fuel pressure there also but they are more than my damn wideband cost!!!! for the electric anyway...

anyone ever ran a manual fuel pressure guage in their car??? lol, the thought of the line leaking worries me... it shouldn't but you never know.

suggestions?????

yeah man, dont run a manual in the car, nhra rules forbid it....id say check the ads or check ebay.

i wonder if you can just get the sensor and not the gauge for the fp. and run it into your hptuners box, then you can log the fp.

The main difference between your guys problem and mine is that mine exists without boost that’s why we believe it is the cam. At 5000 RPM with or without boost my car is done making power and you can feel and here the car not wanting to rev any higher.

I did find with my new STS relocation and adding a cutout right after the turbo my boost and lag improved dramatically. I will post some pictures later.

First off i found out the the Vig 3600 had got hot because of some burn marks in the paint, also the hub was cracked, when the converter was being repaired i was told that it had sever wear!!! So im betting it was the converter!!

Well guys i still havent made it to the dyno since the th400 swap and dual walbro install... I still need to get a Driveshaft made.

Between all the snow and being so busy with everything else going on in my life right now i havent had much time to mess with it...

Hopefully i can get the DS made and make it to the dyno again in the next month or so!!!

Ill keep the thread updated!!

Thanks Guys!
