'06 GTO cam-only results...
**Updated again with new numbers after CAI swap and retune. 480/453. Picked up 13/7 over the Vararam!**
** Updated with dyno sheets, both Standard and SAE corrected**
So, I have been driving around on a BUSTED tranny for about 6 months now, and took the car down to SNL to have a Tick level 2 tranny put in, along with a new clutch. Everyone was impressed with the amount of damaged done to the transmission. While it was there, Steve talked me into a new cam.
The baseline dyno run was 395/415, with just bolt-ons. Mods included a Vararam, P&P TB (by WRP), ported FAST 92, Kooks 1 3/4" headers, catless mids, 3" cat-back with X-pipe and 40 series Flowmasters in the '04 location, Tick level 2 T56 w/ cryo and REM polishing, lightweight flywheel, Monster level 6 clutch, and a Geforce CF driveshaft. It was tuned by Matt @ SNL.
The cam was swapped out, along with a TCI UDP, and new rails and 42# injectors, springs, pushrods, and valve seals. The first pull on the dyno exceeded what I was hoping for - 448HP! Matt made a few more pulls, and picked up power every time. He was cussing my Vararam because the MAF values were all over the place. The last run resulted in 467hp @ 6800rpm, and 446ft-lbs of torque @ 4800rpm. The car made over 400ft-lbs from 3000-6000, and over 350ft-lbs from start to finish. Due to tuning issues with the Vararam, the car is still running a little rich. I think we are going to swap it out for one of SNL's 4" CAI's. Steve is pretty sure this will smooth it out and pick up a few more HP.
So, unless someone can prove otherwise, I believe that is a record for a cam-only LS2 car. Stock bottom end and untouched stock 243 heads. This thing is a freak, and runs like a raped ape! I will post up before and after dyno charts as soon as I have a digital copy of them (unless Steve wants to add to this.)
Again, I have nothing but good to say about the guys at SNL (all except for Loyd - he wouldn't give me his new Harrops 2300 blower ). They continue to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who is physically able to drive to DFW. The new level 6 clutch has absolutely no chatter. Steve said don't worry about breaking it in, just get on the highway and beat the **** out of it. I'm not going to lie to you... I beat on it a few times - It's a long drive home. I pulled off the dyno at midnight, and got home at 4:45am.
Before anyone asks, you will have to get with Steve @ SNL for the cam specs - after he installs one in your car

It may be closer to 480 with the new CAI and re-tune in a couple of weeks. We were all blown away by the #'s. I was expecting 445/425. The heads/cam & stalled '04 GTO that came off the dyno just before me made 415/400.

Pretty nice results, lets see a graph. You gained around 60-70hp with your cam and 25tq or so. You had a high baseline which was probably a result of lightweight flywheel and carbon fiber ?? driveline. The bay area racing GTO supposedly made close to 500rwhp cam only. I bet it is a strong runner!

And? It's a proven dyno. The heads/ cam '04 Goat that came off before me put down 415/400. There are several GTO's putting down similar numbers to what I did with just the bolt-ons. I just picked up more than most with the cam and UDP.
Thanks for all the compliments though.
