I found this on LS1Tech when I did a search
{You can judge the aggressiveness of a cam by subtracting the advertised duration(.006") from the .050" duration. The typical range will be 49-67. 49 being the harshest and 67 being extremly lazy. A Comp XE lobe will have a diffrence of 53. It still comes off the seat early and provides good low-end power. Springs should make 25-30 k easy, but I would pull one and check it around 20k.}

The ramp rate from .006" to .050" for the EPS lobes is 49 degrees. This is fast, but ramp rate is not the only determining factor in how spring friendly a cam is and how stable it will be at rpm. Acceleration and jerk are much more important factors and it is here where the EPS lobes are superior to the XE-R lobes. Acceleration and jerk are much more controlled with the EPS lobes vs. XE-R lobes even though they match the XE-R lobes at 49 degrees and have more lift.

All this leads to the next question, just how close can a cam grinder hold to the specs?

Anyone running this with an M6? I am looking for a very DD friendly cam to get over 400rwhp. I maybe going to an LS6 longblock as well especially after seeing this numbers with the stock heads.

It offers plenty of torque and the power comes in quick so I think it would push a truck just great. We have only made one trip to the track so far and we were shifting early at 6000 on the 1-2 and 6200 ish on the 2-3. I plan to bump it up on our next trip to see what the car has in it. I'm planning to shoot for 6400-6500 rpm shift points to see if she likes it.

Everyone seems to be getting great deals from them on this board! I am pretty much set on getting the Longblock at this point and a nice small cam like this and being set. All you had to upgrade was the cam and springs correct? Did you also need to do a pushrod change or anything?

excuse my ignorance... people talk a lot about springs breaking and things of that nature after like 15-30k, is there any danger of that with this combo? does it offer as much reliability as stock, or close?

Some great results with that EPS Cam...I need to have them spec me a new cam for my setup. My motor wants more cam/gear lol. I wish our tracks out here had - DA. I ran my 11.2 at +2000 DA with super shitty track prep lol.

You'll never have a cammed car that has the same spring reliability as stock. Unless you go with a very small cam without much lift. Aftermarket cams are harder on springs and springs wear out over time, thats why people say to have the spring pressure tested more often than stock. Intervals depend completely on the valvetrain setup though.
