Default Texas Speed '09 CTS-V Manual, Bone-Stock

I decided to strap the V down on the rollers this evening. It's a six-speed manual with 940 miles on the odometer. I'm not sure how accurate the factory boost gauge is, but it shows right at 8 psi if it's decent with its readings.

I was pleased with the results considering the low mileage and bone-stock trim. A 9.55" pulley and aftermarket heat exchanger is on its way. The 9.55" pulley should add another 4.5 psi of boost. It will be after the first of the year before I have anytime to get it on a lift and get the parts installed, but you can bet I'll post another graph when it gets its first round of mods.

Trevor

Hussam - Was the V you dynoed an auto or manual? The autos seem to be in the 460-470 RWHP range, and the manual cars seem to average 490-510 RWHP. I was excited to get a healthy car.

Hahaha, talk about under-rating the LSA motors from the factory. Awesome! Nice car Trevor.

What a freak. I didn't realize there was such a big difference between the autos and manual cars. The new V is an awesome car. This sure makes me excited about the Z28 once it comes out.

Weather makes a big difference. I actually did the first production CTS-V. It is a black auto car but we dynoed it in 30 degree weather and it made high 480'srwhp after a good tune. We have never had a auto do so good since.

Trevor how do you like the CTS? I am thinking of trading my ZO6 for one with an Auto. I have test driven a couple and they seem nice to drive but for a daily driver and long trips how is it?

David, the car is awesome. Like I said, it does everything well. I had never even sat in one, much less driven one, before I bought mine. I figured it would be hard to hate a Caddy with a manual and supercharged 6.2. I've yet to take it on a long trip, but I'm going to put right at 1,000 miles on it over New Year's weekend so that will be a good test. You won't be disappointed if you get one!

I gave it a good coat of Zaino today, so pics will come shortly.

Trevor
