even if i posted a video of a pass it would do zero good as we always run with clocks off so there would be no time displayed .

i didn't mind telling a few times as we have changed the set up for this year anyways

we are going to be running PROE85 class with it this year and it is a 8.90 index if that tells you anything

It tells me that you don't make 1000 rwhp unless the car sucks at putting it down.

I play with v8s and play with four bangers.I have owned and still own several talons.
Now taking a 2.0litre or even 2.4 litre talon which was a turbo car to start with to 1000rwhp is not only almost impossible it for sure is not possible for 10k and talking 10k into mods forget the price of the car.
And remember stock parts honda or whatever don't handle 1000rwhp. tranny's ,clutches,
axles, rear ends, engines.etc.
Never mind the fuel system needed for 1000rwhp certainly a bit more than a 200 buck fuel pump.
The honda boys are lucky to have 500rwhp and have things live.

And to have reliable 1000rwhp even in our fourth gens still takes some bucks.
I have done my car with not much regard to how much things cost and it should do 1000rwhp but not sure would want to run 1000rwhp everyday even if it can do it.
Remember its hard enough to hook up 1000rwhp in a rear wheel drive car or awd car ,fwd well better be running slicks 24/7 to hook that up and even then good luck.

Here is my recipe to do 1000rwhp on our v8 f bodies.
Not going to bother adding up costs but this is about minimum hardware required.

Engine..6.0 iron block..stock crank might do 1000rwhp think as said its been done not sure for how long or how reliably. Of course need upgraded forged rods and pistons.
And if going to continuously try to run 1000rwhp likely won't have that much luck with four bolt heads . So really should upgrade to something like LSX block with 6 bolt heads for 1000rwhp and up. Course nice six bolt heads are not cheap. Cams can go fairly cheap like ls9 cam. Still need decent valve springs.
Trans. built turbo 400 likely cheapest way to go. Not many t56 can stand up to 1000rwhp for long. 4l80 built to the hilt are nice if you want overdrive but not cheap.
Fuel past 1000rwhp pretty much need custom tank, huge pump and multiple pumps, big lines, rails ,adjustable reg. My twin setup is good to about 1000rwhp.
Tuning is a given of course .Have it done or do it yourself.
Rear end obviously going to need good one.9 inch, 12 bolt or dana not factory joke 10 bolt.
Suspension well if you want to hook things at the track going to take some money and parts here.
And of course didnt' mention the power adder yet..obviously need a big single or fair size twins and of course related stuff, intercooler, alc injection if your going to try running pump gas, possibly still some spray on top of boost, gauges and boost controllers, possibly nitrous stuff like window switches,etc.etc.

I have around 40k into my car beyond price of the car.I have at least 20k over above price of my talon and still not finished and its good to about 650 engine hp. These guys are dreamers..honda boys LOL

The original purpose of this post was (I am pretty sure of this) to show the idiocy of the 'import crowd' at OP's tech school. 1000whp imports for less than 10k. They were spouting this because they believe it is cheaper to mod imports than our cars.

anyone have a spare iron block? h/c/i and a 500 shot should do it....once. OP didn't mention reliability. According to his post, the import crowd didn't mention reliability...or safety...
Why don't the majority of tech members do it for less than 10k? because the majority of tech are all talk and no go. Will i do it? no...i won't. My ls1 is my DD. If i want big power i will rely on my 2nd gen and the BBC.

Let's just let this die...this argument will never end. Even if E-works does a 1000whp build for 10k, someone will still say that its bullshit. Thats the joy of the internet, everyone knows everything and everyone will call bullshit on everyone in order to make their own knowledge grow above everyone elses. **** it all. Do whatever you guys do...and just rejoice in the hilarity of OP's import crowd school....that was the intention of this post, not some giant pissing match.

People are forgetting too that he says 1000 RWHP (not flywheel hp). That means (depending on the tranny, driveshaft, clutch, flywheel, rearend, axles etc) there will be varying amounts of parasitic loss plus the drivetrain needs to handle it. In order to lay down 1000rwhp I'd say you need about 1100-1200hp at the fly wheel. Everyone is saying iron block 408ci plus a 500hp shot. That means the motor alone would need to make 650-700hp which is damn stout as it is and plus be able to even hold one hit of a 500hp shot. Personally I just don't think you could even build the motor and ignition/fuel system to make 1100-1200hp at the flywheel for $10,000, even for one run (nevermind the rest of the car).

The whole point too here is that it's coming from riceboys...where it takes $100,000 to make 1000whp in their cars...what do they know?

I remember reading an article about a built honda making about 650hp at the wheels. He had a lot of work, I'd guess around 30-35k into the whole car. It had a turbo about half the size of the motor and made less than 125hp until 6000 rpm where it spiked almost directly up to the peak. What size slicks can you fit under the front of a honda? How much bigger of a turbo can you possibly put on there when its already still spooling at redline? Why worry about 1000whp when having a light car with 250-300whp is much more attainable and fun to drive. Riceboys never learn, which is why making fun of them should be an olympic sport.

Again having both a built up four banger and v8 some other differences come to light.
Little engines with huge turbos are going to have pretty narrow not very street friendly powerbands. My turbo on my talon the 650engine hp one comes on around 3800 on a 2.4 litre swap. You can spin the engine to 8000 maybe 8500. Still not the best on the street but of course there are tricks. You can gear down if you are in higher gear ,so if you are in third then hit second and get boost pretty much right away and same on highway if in fifth or fourth go to third and get boost. You can also use tricks to get off the line , I have two step and antilag both of which help standard cars a lot.
Autos can build boost pretty easily on the line my little race 2.0 litres talon can build decent boost with just a two step no antilag needed.
But as said much past 500rwhp you need to spend lots on various subsystems to keep things together. You are dealing with tiny little parts..little axles, etc.
I am not very worried with my v8 running at say 800rwhp all the time. And the powerband is much better for a street car with boost coming in around 3500 to say 7000 but more torque and power off boost than a four banger off boost. Fact I am not in boost much at all in the v8 in the city. To go from say 120 off boost power in the four banger to 600 is a huge jump but requires lots of boost. To go from 500 to say 800 engine hp in the v8 is not that big a jump and dont' require very much boost.

Both engines and cars are fun especially the talons with awd. And they do rev quick. And a built 2.0 talon engine can go to like 9500rpm!

But as already said no not easy to get any little four banger much past 500rwhp without spending piles on money on support parts.

That said seen a few ghetto cheap turbo built civics and things at local track running not bad but usually not for long..not bad being maybe a low 12 ,occasionally if they are gutted out a high 11. And it isn't easy to get traction on fwd cars you do need pretty much slicks to hook them at track and on the street well unless roll ons at higher speeds not much chance of hooking them up. There are tricks to help turbo cars hook though. ramping boost controllers work pretty good in that department. But our bigger cars also let us run bigger tires which also helps.

Also lets not forget power to weight. Those little hondas can still go plenty fast with 500 or 600rwhp because they are so darn light.2500 race weight or less is very doable.
My auto talon is about 2600 raceweight. I weigh 240. And awd is heavier. But can do some amazing 60fts even on street tires.

Love the idiots standing around like something big is about to happen.

If they act that way over 800Rwhp, could you imagine how 1000Rwhp would be?

You said it lemons, but one correction. These Idiots in the video don't know anything about Rear Wheel Horsepower, only Front wheel horsepower. LOL. Ricers. 100 bucks says if he sprays it on the street he blows a driveshaft. Saw a guy at Milan Dragway do it, then repair it only to do it again and then unable to fix. LOL

I wonder how much power the motor makes when the body is on and it doesn't have optimal heat dissipation and no fan blowing on an unabstructed FMIC ? Body off is good for 100 Front whp LOL.

I can squeeze 1000hp out of something for 10k...

I can't say it will be for longer than a split second... But..

Also, that video made me lawl consistently. I think there was 1 nutswinger standing in that dyno room per HP that honda made.
