very strong and great numbers specialy for an A4.

why don't you install a Borla catback instead of the stock catback?

were your TFS 215cc LS1 heads touched up slightly (slightly ported) btw?

thanks.

why put a Borla on...I don't get any gain by removing the exhaust...the cutout does its job and gives the best of both worlds quiet and loud (all out performance)...plus borla's run what $500ish...I would rather have a ewp...

I mean how fast can it be I have ducktape for a bellows on the lid and a stock catback...

heads were just milled...just the standard cnc program...no massaging/extra porting

yeah it has to be up there...

speed's previous best a4 stock bottom end... was 470 with a 10 bolt...the heads were the same TFS 215s...it was not flycut though and was around 59-60cc chambers iirc...I think is was 11.5:1

Stock tranny? You better say a prayer before each run. Good luck !!! Have you considered a nice RPM unit ?

Why don't you go **** yourself, I'm just trying to learn about FLT, I already know about RPM and was wondering if there was a price or performance advantage with going with them.

*Sorry to the OP, didn't mean to take away from this awesome thread. Hope to see the miracle run 9.999999 !!! Or bust !

BTW, what tire are you going to run and what kind of 60 do you think she'll cut ?

yeah I will...maybe have a rosary on too...

my old man has run 10.40s on the stock 4l60e probably 50+ passes and 2 seasons worth...the key is no hot lapping and keeping the heat out of it...

there are a bunch of threads where Vince at FLT has detailed pictures of all the internals of the trans and explains alot...search his name...they are an excellent trans shop and some real trustworthy guys...plus they are 10 minutes from my work...definitely a top shop

as for the tires I have 275/60/15 right now and hoping to cut 1.31-1.32 when the amazing da kicks in...if I can't get enough traction I am going to give the 295s a try...

Thanks for the info. I got a buddy doing a built 348 and will be spinning her up around 7200. She's built for it. Proper VT, etc etc. He's scared of his Tranny puking the first time out. I'll pass the info on.

Chris my trans has 125 runs in the 10s in 2008 and about 75-80 in 2009.Its not a shop built trans, its a shift kit,has a beast sun shell,3 quart deep pan( 10-11 quarts ) and i dont make a pass unless the trans temp is below 175 degrees.Heat is what kills the trans.I had my trans guy go through it after the season in 2008 and he said it looked great!!!!! I change the fluid after 50-60 runs, along with the oil.Maintance is the key.

Doug wasn't nut swinging he was asking a question, which can be seen from his response.

Why are you so quick to mention FLT?

People chill. DAMN.
