As stated get some sticky tires and a clutch, then dust yourself off and try again!

Thanks for posting up the track numbers. I figured they weren't what you were expecting when the excuses came before the numbers, but definite props for posting them. Like they said, get some tires and give it another shot.

I'd still be interested to see the numbers it puts out on a Dynojet.

Do you remember this statement below?

right now my optimum shift point for this stock cam and my mods is at 5700 rpm.
Dude, shift that bitch as high as you can without tagging the rev limiter. And if you were going by the stock tach and saying you were shifting at 5700, then you were indeed shifting HIGHER than that. The stock tach can't keep up for ****. Get a shift light, you'll love it!

When my car was BONE stock except for a lid, I trapped 108.96 with a stock clutch the VERY first time I took it to the track. What power did it make to trap that and run 12.9? 321rwhp/331rwtq....

My cars trap speed remained virtually the same whether I launched and spun, bogged, or just took off easy. Whether I bogged and 60 ft'd a 1.8 or 1.9 trying to keep the Nittos from spinning, or launched it at 5k lifting the tires and pulling 1.5s, my car trapped right at 122 (heads/cam).

As far as you "granny shifting", I didn't power shift my car when it was trapping 113s with some bolt-ons making 354rwhp/373rwtq.

DA at the track = 2094

all in all with the above problems

12.94@109.77 has been the best I could muster up tonight

I've been trapping 108/109 mph all night long

Yep....

Just an FYI, my 01 put down 35x/35x (dont remember exacts ATM) and went 112mph at night here in the summer (3k DA, 91 octane, etc.) And I too was shifting around 57-5800 per the stock tach

I'm using a shift light... not the stock tach...
and because of the stock clutch/master combo its a real slow "granny shift" as I call it...

and yes...5700-5800 is ideal shift on a stock cam in a 2001 Camaro.
I put more power down to the wheels in 2nd gear after the shift than if I took it out to 6100 in first... and that figures in Gear Multiplication factors.

and yeah..1st gear is pointless... I considered loading it up and launching in 2nd...

60' sucked...couldnt cut one below 2.1x

theres easily 2-3 mph more in it with how I'm driving it...

I actualy had one slip that showed a 112mph( I was the only one that ran that run...seemed like everybody else was taking a break)... but I considered it either a mistake or a fluke and I was basically 109 all night long

FYI... I'm not a newb... I used to race a 6.5sec 200mph car... I lost it end over end on ESPN back in 2001...
I just am not about to break something because somebody on here wants me to prove something...
this is my daily driver... that when I am finished.. will be somewhere in the 650hp range to the wheels and a lot of fun on the street

Try not to take the criticism of your numbers and results as anything more than constructive. That and I believe most of us are trying to bring you back to reality with regards to making almost 400rwtq with stock internals. Either way, best of luck man!

Even if you pick up 3 mph over that 109 you were hitting all night, that would still just show "average" bolt-on power. Thanks for posting up the times and traps.
