Default 370 vs a 408 for the track w/ nitrous

Is there that much difference in HP on a nitrous car. Taking the same heads same cam for both does the extra cubes really get you more H.P for the track.

I wanting to know and alot of people as me so I thought I would get everyones opinion.

No replacement for displacement...as long as the engines are both built for spray the 408 will eat it up.

I totally agree with vodas00ss. As long as you have a well built shortblock a 408 should make more power and be just as reliable. Keep in mind if your going to spray at it I would consider going with and iron block for the extra strength.

Typical logic would say the 408 would make more power, but I have seen some DAMN stout 370's. I think HP would be close, and torque would be within 25ft-lbs, especially on the jug. I think the shorter stroke of the 370 makes it a little more rpm friendly.

Man thats what I was thinking to. Is it really worth the extra money to build. Or just save that money and build a lsx block and spray the 370 with more juice

I remember a post from a while back where a guy put all his ls1 parts on a 402ci. he gained like 22hp and 50lbs of tq using all the parts, just going bigger. The 408ci will build more tq and power. One guy said maybe a 25lbs of tq difference. 25lbs of tq is a lot when were talking n/a and the power will be there too. And i spin my 402 to 7,300rpm. Just build a quality motor and it wil be rpm friendly.

If you are rebuilding why not go for the 408?
