Thanks for the compliments guys! (even you Andrew )
These are the same heads that came off of Gomer's car and are 241 castings. The heads were cleaned as best as possible and then bolted onto the motor. They were never even disassembled. Compression ratio is 10.1:1, just like any other stock LS1.
And yes, the 241s are definitely a better casting. I have flowed both sets (853s and 241s) and the 241s flow ~5-7cfm better.
I do hope to find some more area under the curve with the new lobes. I definitely feel low-end can be improved with a few extra useable HP/TQ up top as well, all while maintaining stock idle/driveability characteristics of the '02 LS6 cam.

Jason, one question. I see that you used 918 springs and hardened. I'm going to back to bolt ons and will be putting an Ls6 cam in the car, wwas there any reason you went with the 918's over the LS6 springs? Thanks.

Linear Velocity: I would personally use 918s. The '02 LS6 springs would probably do OK. I used the 918s because the '02 springs were designed to be used with the much lighter LS6 valves. The 918s have more seat pressure and I figured this would be the better choice with the heavier LS1 valves.
I don't feel the hardened pushrods are 100% necessary though.
The heads I got from Gomer came with stock valvesprings. I assembled this motor back in August with stock heads, cam, LS1 intake manifold, stock manifolds/cats,etc. and installed it in the car. I drove around this way for ~3k miles. The car dynoed 331rwhp/353rwtq with just a lid/catback. I then installed the 918s, LS6 cam, ASP pulley, MAC headers w/ ORP, and the LS6 intake a few Sundays back.
Maddboost: I don't plan on selling it until I get out of school now, if I even do sell it. (~ 3-4 semesters left). I would only get rid of it for a Z06 or the new C6. All of my old parts have been sold.

Any plans for doing that?

Gomer, I'll try and head to the track before school starts up on the 20th. The thought has definitely crossed my mind. I still have the Wolfe 6-point cage in the car too. lol It is going to be weird launching with 3.42s. I'm so used to 7k rpm clutch dumps on slicks with ET Drags.

John, I used TR 7.400" pushrods.
edit: I forgot to add in my orginal post that the motor was assembled with ARP rod bolts as well. I forgot to include that last night. I edited my original post.

Rodney, Friday will not be a good day and I have to work Saturday. It would be a good race. We can line them up one day. Have you been back to the track with the ET Streets?
I may head to NPR Wednesday, but it won't be in the TA.

The car does feel better on the street with the new tune. WOT a/f was 12.0:1 with the old tune and now it leaned out to 13.3:1 on that last pull with the new one. The higher revlimiter helps alot too since I was hitting it on every shift before.
Again, thanks for making time for my car Saturday. Let me know when I need to bring it back for the cutout, collector, and bullet mufflers.

Chad, I'll be helping a friend move into an appartment on Sunday, so that will not be a good day.
There is nothing wrong with powershifting. lol Just prepared to be rebuilding alot of T56s.
