Default TEA comes out kickin...!!!!

I figured I would post this for you guys.
Helped a buddy install a set of TEA 1.5s/custom cam this weekend.Hes not on the net much so I dont think he was going to make a post. Car is 02 WS6 M6. full bolt-ons. Cam was 233/237 around .600 lift on a 111. 10 bolt with 4:10s, 17" TTIIs, with 315s. No tricks, no shortbelts!!

Final #s were 463/424!!!!!!!!!!! This was with him tuning the car himself using LS1Edit. #s are STD.

I didnt expect ANYWHERE near this kind of power from his setup. Im going to try n put the graph on a disc so I can post it up for you guys. Hes making 409rwtq@4000rpms and carries it quite well to 6000rpms. Car was still pulling strong to 6800. I think hes gonna try an elec wp and a cutout and shoot for 470rwhp.

I guess I should have learned a lil before calling BS on all these big #s being made, as this is the 2nd high horsepower car in Ga with heads/cam. Both running TEAs and both making 450rwhp+!!

Needless to say, this guy is one happy camper..

From what I heard, the heads don't have any milling and the pistons were ALSO flycut. That would put the car under stock compression

Very nice. I'm sure the SAE numbers will still be in the 450 range. Congrats.

TEA does some great heads but the STD is kind of useless to compare.I've pulled more HP than that on STD,then when put to SAE the power dropped 40hp.

Wow, that's a big difference. The difference on my car was like 9 hp.

Bruce, are you sure you aren't comparing your uncorrected to SAE? I've seen big swings in STD to SAE correction as well

Found this about STD dyno correction on a yahoo search...

"Because the reference conditions include higher pressure and cooler air than the SAE standard, STD corrected power numbers will always be about 4 % higher than the SAE power numbers. "

SAE #s were 453/409 guys!! Just got the graph in my hands. Ive always seen that cuncorrected is useless, but SAE and STD seem to be fairly close. Every dyno is different. Sorry for the STD #s guys, I didnt have the graph in front of me when I posted this last night. I just wanted to share the news. Ill post later in the week the results of a cutout/elec waterpump. Maybe he can hit a legit 460rwhp SAE.

Gomer, these are not the hand finished heads. Off the shelf 1.5s. I dont recall the exhaust flow #s, but the intake was at 309@.600. I THINK the exhaust was 250ish@.600, but TEA does flow with a pipe. TEA says they are picking up an additional 10cfm with the hand finishing. Might have been worth it to give them a try...

The heads are not decked. stock 5.3s. Pistons were flycut to make room for the stick. Compression should be right @ stock with the 5.3s/flycutting. He tuned it to 30* @ WOT on 93 pump gas.

FWIW, I didnt really post this to brag about TEA. I should have titled the thread a lil differently. I was just stoked these heads would be able to handle such a big cam and still make awesome power. We have seen these types of #s over and over again from setups all over the country. The key seems to be these huge cams and heads that can support them.....
