woa....this thread really killed me on the new camaros... especially when you can buy a car for 1/4 the cost....12 years old....600lbs lighter (or whatever) and have the same horsepower....
(((come on GM...fords new mustang is doing well...and i hate saying that..., but then again, ford i commend you on finally making a mustang that ford guys can be proud of, congratulations, hopefully no more fly by's by mustangs...lol)
sorry i went off topic from the ls3 dynoing....

i think they did it to add a few MPG's to avoid gas guzzler tax or whatever. The L99 uses different valves and lifters and cam to utilize the variable cam timing.Otherwise i think the Heads and intake are the same. Not sure why you felt such a big difference though, the LS3 car will only feel stronger on the top-end (higher RPMS) since the L99 has a comparable low and mid range torque curve AND better gearing.

I have done two camaro's. L99 & LS3
The LS3 (manual trans) done 361 stock.
I didn't get a before dyno on the L99.
I put the exact same performance parts on both cars.
Kooks Longtube 1 3/4 headers coated
Kooks exhaust kit ( x-pipe) w mufflers
CAI (brand) Cold air intake.
After performance parts and tune :
LS3----418 rwhp
L99----365 rwhp
Let me say that disabling the torque management on the L99 made a world of difference. The car drives completely different. Remember these new auto tranny's rob alot of power.
