piced up .12 and 1mph at the track with no tuning and 1000 WORSE DA conditions. this was over the ls6 with a 90mm. 60' times were 1.496 and 1.495 for the LSX. pretty good comparison

IMO, even a cam only car will definitely benefit more from a 90mm setup than a 78mm setup.

The 78mm setup is marginally better than a LS6 intake and prolly no better than a ported ls6 intake.

Default LSX 90MM intake and TB on 427 and ATI F1

My car is going back to More Performance on Tueday for the installation of the LSX 90 MM TB and Intake on my 427 ATI F1 car, Extreme Torque Arm and Extreme Sway Bar. Car is currently running Kooks 1 7/8, cam is 232 240 .594 .609 LS of 115, Procharger is making 10# of boost currently with Stock LS6 intake, and TB, custom intercooler, Race Blowoff Valve. Numbers are in the signature before the run. I will be having the car dyno'd before and after the install to verify results.

I will post results hopefully by the end of next week.

More Performance is also currently building a 383 D-1SC car with LSX Intake and TB 90mm, with TB plumbed with Nitrous,

More Performance will also be doing a friend of mines car, 2000 Vette ATI F1-R, 90mm intake and Throttle Body next week or week after next. I will post the vette results also. I can't post the 383 D-1SC results as the person who owns this setup does not like to share. I have not given any secrets away and when he opens his hood you could see what he has done.

I feel I am in the top 10% of fastest true street cars on the forum, and I do not have any problem sharing anything, so I have a hard time understanding why anyone else would. What is the big secret anyway.

Ok, I have a 427 that is slowly coming together over time and one of the most recents changes to it was the 90mm tb and 90mm FAST intake. With a 427 short block and stock heads, ls-1 intake, 11:1 compression and a decent cam I went from 413 rwhp and 452 rwtorque to 430 rwhp and 456 rwtorque. Obviously with a set of heads breathing through the 90mm set up I would probably see more of a benefit. However the heads will come as soon as AFR gets there 225cc ls-1 head out to market! So, essentially I got 17rwhp and 4 ft.lb.tq.

Default Maf?

Guys, got a question for those of you showing the large gains with the FAST 90mm intake/TB. Are you using the 85mm MAF? Has anyone seen a gain withe the 90mm setup using the factory MAF (non ported, etc)??

I recently added an LSX 90mm Intake, Z06 85mm MAF, Fast 90mm TB, and a Meziere EWP to the 383 LS6 block engine in my '99 Trans Am with the following results:

Before:..453rwhp, 435 rwtq
After:....476rwhp, 460 rwtq

From the resulting gain of 23rwhp/25rwtq....if you subtract out 7rwhp/5rwtq for the EWP, this leaves 16rwhp/20rwtq for the LSX Intake/MAF/TB combo.

I expect to make a few more rwhp/rwtq just by changing the air filter which was dirty at the time of the dyno. We did a dyno with the air filter removed and picked up 4rwhp/9rwtq more which gave 479.2rwhp/469.5rwtq total.

The dynoes were made thru a 3" cutout, all belts, on Z06 rims with 275 Nitto drag radials. ......Randy.......

How much do you think I would pick up by making the following mods?
-Change FLP 1 3/4" headers to stepped 1 3/4"->1 7/8" or straight 1 7/8" headers.
-Change exhaust from (3" Y-Pipe/3.5" FM Y-Collector/3.5" to 3" I-Pipe/3" SLP DD) to (TSP Duals: 3" X-Pipe/Dual 3" bullet mufflers).
-Change Z06 rear reproduction rims from 17x9.5 to Bogart 15x10 Welded RTs.
-Change stock rockers to Harland Sharp 1.7s or Comp Pro Magnum 1.75s.

The car is running very well with the R1 cam, so I'm not inclined to change cams....Does anybody have any other suggestions to squeeze out that last 20rwhp to get to 500rwhp?.......Thanks

If your Y-pipe is a good design (i.e. Flowmaster collector with two 3" in and 3.5" out) and you have a cut-out, then I don't think duals will add much. If you have a Y pipe made by jamming two 3" pipes into each other and exiting at 3", then a good Y-pipe and a 3.5" cut-out would help or try the duals.

It's a Flowmaster Y-Collecter....that's what I thought too. I may have to re-consider the cam change as the mods I'm considering cost a lot more. I just hate messing with the low end torque as the engine pulls the car so effortlessly now from idle up!

This thread is almost useless. Out of 4 pages, there are 4 dyno graphs.... Peak HP tells nothing, especially without the rpm that it was attained at. Comon people, put up some graphs!

here are the results from my run on sunday do they seem to high for my mods the cutout was open.and the other 2 pulls showed up 314for the first on 340for the second and 360 for the third each time he had me run it up a little higher his rpm showed about 500lower than my car read I also posted this in another spot in the dyno forum before I saw this sticky. let me know what you think. All the other cars that were there seemed normal that day just thought mine looked a little high for my mods is my car a fluke? Also one 04 cobra turned370hp and one turned 350 both identical one just a little newer
