Default Trans Am Dyno'd @ All Out Performance Today.

Well Finally got my car running and tuned from Nate at All Out Performance in Fresno today. Just want to thank Nate for his help. I dropped off the car last friday with a electrical issuse. He took care of that for me. Got the new 102mm T/B to function correctly, and then did the tuning after. My car put Nate through alot and he put some hours into it over the weekend. He was always in contact and and we worked with each other on getting info we needed to get stuff handled. The man is a ture hard worker and his business will be around for a long while as his customer service and automotive tuning skills are SHARP!!!!

So thanks again Nate for your help. As for the car I think it did good considering it was hot as a ***** f--ker!!!! Also Some of you seen my numbers and just to give you a heads up, my new numbers are on a dynojet as where my last ones were on a dynapak where a dynapak can read about 10-20rwhp more on the avg. But to me I could care less about dyno numbers I care about the car running good and strong on the track.

So the numbers were on a Unlocked Converter:

427rwhp

371rwtq

100'f shop temps while making pulls.

420+ unlocked should be good for 10s no sweat if the rest of the car is setup halfway decent.

why is the tq low, is it because of the 102mm intake?
i see cars with 420hp with 390 plus tq.
just asking.

because the verter flashes past 5000rpm so you miss all the tq numbers.it has a big verter in it and makes fat power so it flashes pretty hi.

Im the one who tuned it,tomorrow i will send him the dyno sheets and you will see it doesnt record till about 5200 rpm and im hitting it at about 3500 but it flashes right threw it.
I drove the car and it freakn runs, tire killer.

af was a nice 12.8 timing was in the 25 to 28 degree range.ZERO kr turned out killer.

Nate,

What RPM did you start your pulls at? I'm sure he won't see 5k verter flash at the track.

Any reason why you didn't make any pulls with a locked verter to ensure 4500-5000 was legit? I'm gonna guess 4400-4500 is where the verter will flash with no wheel speed.

well i drove the car sean and it flashs on the street to almost 5000.
And i dont want to put stress on a 60 verter lockup clutch,we have broken them in the past. And who cares what it does locked, you dont race them locked with a 60 anyway.
and sean re read the post started pulls at 3500 or so.

Nate, I'm not trying to tell you your tune or numbers are whack. I'm trying to tell you what I have seen.

Dyno, rolling start from 3kish rpm, flashes to 5k-5,200 with a loose verter. On the street it seems to do about the same due to the lack of traction. Get it to the track where it can actually hook and data log it, comes back 4,400-4,600. Given it isn't at 4400-4600 long, but I like to lock it to get that dialed as well. You can do 4k-5k pulls locked. No sense in not hitting the tires as hard as you can if it hooks.

BTW, no changes in the truck except 10* timing on the hit, 60' went from 1.677 (19*) to 1.59x (29*).. If I didn't lock the verter to dial it in at the 4,500-4,600 flash I get off the foot brake at the track, I might not have ever got it to go over a tenth faster 11.57 to 11.45.

I'm not telling you to post numbers locked, just trying to let you know what I have seen for verter flash data loging at the track vs dyno/street.

I honestly dont care about dyno stuff,it will be logged at the track aswell, and like i said i drove the car the verter is LOOSE.And like i said we have broken lockup clutchs in 60 converters before,so i dont lock them on cars that make over 400whp,its not worth the customers converter. And i know your not saying my tuning is wack as its not,we made great power for a loose converter in absolute HORRIBLE weather i mean horrible, and it was repeating pull after pull. Also his map has plenty of timing down low,26 degrees on the street logs i have.I spent LOTS of time on daves tune LOTS.Remember sean u have a 4l80 with a MUCH larger lockup that can handle wot lockups.Im not risking my customers converter for something i already saw on the street logs.Cheers dude.

No worries Nate.. You right about my 80E clutch being a lot bigger. It's not the HP that worries me locking the clutch on a 60e, it's the TQ. We both know you could make 500rwhp and only have 350ftlbs of TQ (RPM dependandant of course).

If your gonna log it at the track too, awesome. I'm sure if you have a few minutes while your there you'll add/subtract a couple degrees of timing to see what happens. Your a smart guy and I have never doubted that. As always, I'm willing to share information that I have seen/discovered/learned. I think you already know that though.

Hell ya sean.we have always shared info, you have helped me and I have helped you that's what its all about brother.I know we r real close on timing numbers, and I do remeber when u told me that info when u found it on your truck, and I keep it in the back of my mind always trust me.its funny though some people blast others for locked numbers but then others not meaning you say well y didn't you lock it lol.I always say we don't race dynos,we race at the track and that's all that matters to me.
