I had a buddy who swapped his MTI X1 cam and put in a Megadeath cam in his C6 and he made more power, but his track times were slower. Torque in the low/mid range was substanially impacted negatively and he had stock 3.42 gearing. He pulled the megadeath out and put in a Pat G spec'd custom cam and made just as much power and ran faster track times.

The OP is going to be disappointed when he goes to the track.
I wouldn't run that cam with TFS 215s/FAST 102, it leaves too much power in the midrange on the table. Megadeath cam and 215s is a mis-matched combination.
I'd go with TFS 215s/FAST 102 w/90mm TB, but preferably a FAST 90 or 92 if you can get your hands on one, and something like a 234-236/238-240 112LSA cam.

Yea I dont think I'll be disappointed at all, well.... Cause I'm not, it's a blast to drive and track times don't really make much difference to me since it's not a track car, don't care about low end cause the car never sees low end anyway, mid range is fine and pulls good and really good up top. Combined with heads and intake (still to be decided) will help everything alot and not to mention future plans for 402 or 408 with 11 or 12:1.. Agreed gears... Yeaaaa haha bout that, could realllly use 3:73 or 3:90s.

Thanks Philip, kinda tired of this " theres only one best cam for everyone and only low end matters and that pat g is the know all be all and that the people who build these packages an have proved the results don't know anything treatment" I'm sure pats great but i also know that so are all the other guys such as HPE that are as well otherwise it'd be a little hard to stay in buisness. Different strokes for different folks.

Yes he does. Furthermore, the Megadeath cam is not a cam for a stock geared car and the cam needs gear to appreciate its potential.
Secondly, the PTV clearance with that cam on stock heads and non-notched pistons is WAY to close for comfort on a street vehicle. A bump against the limiter or an overrev and the bottom end is outta there.
Lastly, I've never been a fan of the Megadeath cam. If I were going with a cam that size, I'd choose Thunder Racing's T-rex cam and get notched pistons.

As stated earlier.... Yes it does need gears agreed. BUT too big for street? Too big for who ... You? Because I don't see what the difference is between the car being drivin on the street or being drivin on a track makes on the PTV clearance. Usually why u upgrade to stiffer springs double roller ect. And no a bump off the limited won't make the bottom end "outta there." 2. No one asked if u were a fan of the megadeath nor cares. I didn't see you in the shop helping install it so idc what cam YOU like but I know if u posted numbers ect. And were happy with it I would bash or tell you what you shoulda have done I'd rather let u enjoy what u got.... Thanks for the opinion anyway
Ps. No one dare to be different, just use the same cam, heads, ect as your neighbor then we'll all run the same times and numbers and then we would never have to think about set ups and it would be great....
