TEA Heads and cam on an LS2, only 425 rwhp? Update: 475 rwhp
I hepled my freind tune his cam and heads '05 C6. His car already had headers. And he had TEA port his stock 243 castings to a stage II. And used the cam they recommended 228/230 .585/.585 112. They told him to expect 460 hp at the rear wheels minimum. I helped him dial in the final tune. Base tune was done by Jeff Creech at Carolina Auto Masters. He had a nice 12.6 -12.7 AFR and 26 deg advance on the dyno. Nice smooth graph with no anomalies, but not nearly the power he expected. We have used this dyno shop many times here in Nashville and they are pretty consistant and reliable. My cam only '02 Z06 did 413 hp right after him. My cam is a little bigger at 232/236 but not a huge difference. His larger displacement alone should get him more power than my 5.7, much less ported heads. So why does it hit a wall at 6200 rpm. We did pick up more in the midrange tuning it, but the peak of all the graphs converged at the same 425 hp at 6200 rpm.

Certainly looks like it isn't working together. What cold air intake does he have? Stock LS2 intake I assume? Which headers and exhaust? What is the chamber/compression? How much duration is he willing to run? Since those heads have made 480 rwhp through a locked A4 on a LS1, they have some potential, but you're certainly not seeing it. Crazy flat torque curve though...

That torque is what I looked at earlier as well, goofy, I'm not a builder so I have no idea what happens if the cam timing is messed up.
I'm the home guy however I always degree the cam, nothing worse when you de rail & the second guessing starts.
So who installed that cam & was it degreed?
Was the car dyno'd with just headers....or stock?
These motor's do knock horrible, my 06 LS2 has a ported Fast 90 only. The computer pulls so much timing out stock it is ugly.

I would have to say...something is bad wrong...37X torque on a heads/cam LS2?
What exhaust did you say he had? Cats still on the car?
A Calloway CAI, Fast 102, 102 tb, a cam change and a pair of ARH 1 7/8" headers and good exhaust would go a long way.

Not certain of the headers make, but there aren't any cats on the car, SLP Blackhawk CAI, Stage II TEA heads, Jeff Creech did the base tune, Dr. Carlin did the final tune. Car is running great with the exceptions of the low dyno numbers. My guess is the TEA possibly sent the wrong cam???
I sent you a email, so once you get back and send me your email address, I'll have Chris Berkey @ The Performance Garage in Smyrna Tenn. send you and I the dyno pulls and hopefully you can dissect this mystery.
Thanks,

No knock retard on the final tune. He did most the install on his own, but I was there helping him when we put in the cam and buttoned up the front end and did the valvetrain. Installed cam straight up. Now that I think about it that flat torque curve looks like a stock cam with ported heads.
Or does it mean you degreed it & verified manufacturer specs with no advance or retard?

I spoke with my tuner, who is probably the best tuner on the east coast and he states that this car makes about what it would make with stock heads and that cam, so could there be an issue with the heads? And if it's not the heads then it's the cam.
Like I said in my last post in this thread, there is a possibility that TEA sent me the wrong cam grind, and since I got purchased everything from TEA (including the gaskets) it has me scratching my head.
Trust me, this mystery will be dissected and resolved.

You have the most unusual dyno graph that I've ever seen, makes almost 350 tq at 2500 and gains torque until 5750 where it lays down every time, and it never really develops a torque peak.

Isn't that early torque wrong as in to high?
Then it signs off building torque around 3700 rpm?
I'm comparing my C6 dyno curves to this one, this looks wrong right away.
To the OP, can you post up the Z06 runs to compare the shape of the curves?
