TEA C5 Nitrous graphs, bad convertor ??
The old setup we had was our 5.3 Stg 1.5 heads straight off the assembly line, it made 600 RWHP and went 9.87 @ 138.9.
The new setup is the Judson LS6 Stg 2.5 heads, Weiand intake, Harland Sharp rockers, and ATI underdrive balancer. When we pulled it on the dyno the run only lasted 1 sec, which is much shorter time then usual, and where the convertor used to flash to 4500, it now flashed to 5500. We did this the day we left for the Thunder Shootout.
Dyno is represented in RPM, Dyno2 is represented in speed, so you can see the "dyno" graph looks normal, but when you look at "dyno2" you notice how much less speed the car pulls to. I included a N/A pull for comparision. I guess its time to send my SY 3500 back to Yank.

When i made a pull on motor it would runs 130 mph @ 6000 rpm...
Then on a 250 shot, it would only goto 115 mph @ 6000...
When id goto the track, id run out of gear at the 1000 ft mark, and my setup should have been good for 140.... I didnt understand why till i did the same graph you just did...
Brian: You can calculate converter effeciency by calclating speed at say 6000 rpm. Through your tire size (calculator for tire growth) and gearing etc....
I ended up finding out i had 18% slippage on motor and like 27% on nitrous!! geez i was pissed, swapped to a new TCI SSF 3500 converter and it dropped to 9% on motor and 11% on nitrous...and the car increased rwhp HUGE!
So the million dollar question is, HOW MUCH WOULD THAT LITTLE 346 HAVE MADE WITHOUT BLOWING THROUGH THE CONVERTOR?? We thought 696 RWHP was good!
When my converter was slipping as bad as yours...I got down to the point where it was making 310 rwhp, down approx 80 rwhp from where it was when i first dynoed it several months before hand on motor....
So I was making 390 rwhp, the converter started going away the harder i sprayed the car (up to a 300) then it finally ended up at 310....on spray it would only make 450 rwhp on a 250 shot! cause it blew through so hard...
get a converter in that bitch and redyno! good luck brian

I once owned a Jeffco, which is a copy of a Lenco, 5 levers, one for every gear, and you don't have to clutch it to change gears, now thats a transmission!! But as self employment goes, needed money sold it with clutch and bellhousing for $5000. The guy that bought it ended up on the cover of Summit catalog. Now that would be way cool in my C5. Wonder what my wife would think if she got in it to drive it

:p It's tough enough just stretching that one leg far enough to reach the gas huh?

Maybe when I come back to the shop next week, I'll build him an adapter for his gas pedal so he can sit all the way back in his seat!!
Brian, you know I'm just teasing ya bud, you know there's no way I would be able to do what I'm doing without ya....you rock brotha!!!!
There is a dozen or more LT1 cars in Atlanta making 500-700 rwhp running STOCK t-56's without problems....
