Thumbs up Dynoed My FMS F11 CAM

Well, we just put it in about a week ago, and a few days ago I went to MTI to get the car tuned. I was pretty impressed with the results considereing I still need two bolt-ons (Throttle Body & Pulley) Anyone interested what the CAM/ Tuning is capable of doing, this is how it went...

DYNORUN 1: Max POWER = 387.7 Max TORQUE = 372.7
DYNORUN 2: Max POWER = 390.0 Max TORQUE = 376.6

I didn't think it was bad for Lid/ Headers/ Exhaust/ FMS 228/230 .581 .591 I'm hoping to hit 400 RWHP with the throttle body and pulley... Not sure though...

Now I'm in the market for a good set of Heads. Anyone have suggestions for my current set-up?

Thanks Ron... Everythings great except the fact that occasionally when I'm coming to a stop the car will start surging, then find its idle and stop. They drilled out the throttle body and I believe that helped alot with the surging when I start the car, but not all the time when I'm coming to a stop. It dies occasionally when I'm pulling in the garage, but surges bad everytime for some reason. I guess because I'm going so slow, I have no idea. Should I give MTI a call and ask them about it? And I'm not sure if they raised my idle up, could that help? Other than that it's pretty freakin fun to drive. I love it.

Hmm, might be beneficial to send your PCM to Allan and let him look at it. I have driven quite a few 228/230 cammed cars. They all drive damn near like stock.

I was there with Gamble when he got his car tuned, I was also very impressed with the numbers this cam put down. Hopefully with the other two bolt ons he will be at 400rwhp. Thats pretty impressive. Thanks Futral Motorsports for making a great cam and MTI for the tuning.

This is how I dynoed before the CAM with Headers/ Exhaust/ Lid.... (NO TUNE)...

DYNO1: HP 328.2 TQ 340.3
DYNO2: HP 332.9 TQ 346.3
DYNO3: HP 325.0 TQ 337.5

The CAM and TUNE helped out quite a bit' I thought...

you also have a tb idle screw you can play with. I moved mine just a little and that surging problem went away. The car will idle around 1000rpm while coming to a stop, but it will drop down to 850rpm when you do stop. My FMS-9 idled awesome at 850rpm..

Awesome we have almost identical setups. I do have a ported TB and just recieved my pully from FMS today. I am going in on the tuning session with Allan hopefully in March, you give me hope for 400 + rwhp.

i,ve seen the f11 pull down 425 on stock heads --Very nice cam IMO --Allan is very helpfull --i ordered a custom grind wed. my car is a a-4 with a lid Lt's and a cutout i have a 554/575@112 and i pulled over 400 at speed inc on a base tune --So i hope this new bumpstick shoots me to 425ish "thats good for a a-4 car" i will post my numbers with this new cam soon i hope -and if its good i'll reveal the specs and give Allan props
