Default Gen I LS1 393 stroker...498/502 5yrs later

This combo has been in the car for the last 5yrs/14k miles. Extracting the last bits of horsepower can be attributed to this board and for that I am truly grateful. Back in '06/07 she laid down 453/461 but had some funky things w/ the MAF and the tune was conservative. It's been at a few shops since then w/ modest improvements. 2 weeks ago was the last and final round of upgrades and in total I've picked up a solid 45rwhp & 41rwtq settling at a respectable 498/502.
Cam, heads, rotating assembly has remained the same throughout, all new power has been found in the tune + bolt-ons.

Combo is an orig '99 block (.015 over w/ 4.100 Eagle crank)
Top end is Livernois Stage III 243's, Mamofied FAST 90/NW90 TB
CamMotion custom ground cam in low 230's w/ .600+ lift
Drivetrain is T56, Moser 12 bolt, 4.10's, 3" steel driveshaft

March '07 453hp/461tq
One of the original tunes..the red line was the baseline...yikes!

July '08 463hp/462tq improvement (+10hp/+1tq)
New tuner, added Fast Toys 98mm lid and FTRA

Feb '10 476hp/469tq (additional 13hp/7tq)
Upg from Hooker 1 3/4 to ARH 1 7/8
Upg from MAF to SD

March '10 498/502 (additional 23hp/33tq)
Upg from Magnaflow to Mufflex 4" catback (Mag 4" in/out muffler)
Removed cats (one was clogged)
Upg from FTRA to Chris1313

The car feels great, drives great and pulls hard to 6800rpm..can't wait to hit the track

I think the important thing for ppl to realize is not to be too quick to spend $
on a new cam or set of heads until they find their car's true potential. Plenty of ppl
told me to go w/ a bigger cam and ditch the 243's but it wasn't a route I was willing
to take.

But but but it can't be. No ls1 can run at 0.015" over and live on the internet (on a 99' block no less) Nice numbers dude.

nice setup. a local here went 9s na in an m6 rx7 using a 393 stroker. i am thinking it made around 530s. had a monster cam and 102 setup on it. seems to be a great setup that is commonly overlooked.

*update*

4k hard miles later and seems like something is getting unglued. Oil pressure wont go beyond 35psi and sits at a lazy 5psi at idle..oh snap! Oil psi sending unit is new but oil filter def has some shavings.

Had the engine pulled and the mains look surprisingly good. Cam bearings, block and oil pump will be inspected. Im hoping for something basic and stuff a bigger cam in it otherwise it'll be a sleeved LSA block....
