Futral Motorsports 408 Build and Dyno
Team - I spoke with Alan today and the car has been tuned and went to the track. Alan did say there are some suspension problems and Steve at Madman Racing is going to look at the car and determine next steps on the suspension. The car ran 9.99 @ 137.6MPH with terrible tire shake and difficulty gaining traction through the first 100 feet. I have attached a few pictures of the car as well as the dyno graph.
The cage and chassis building was completed by CNA Performance (Chris Watkins) in Kansas City.
I'm extremely pleased with the motor and we hope to make a few suspension modifications and be running in the 9.7 - 9.89 range. Based off my experience with Alan and his team, I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality work and wants to make serious horsepower. GREAT JOB ALAN!!!!!!!
Listed below is some information on the car and motor. Please note, the car is a dedicated race car which only sees track time.
Please post your thoughts.
2001 Camaro (Funny car cage mini tube front end - Weighs 3250 with driver and fuel)
Engine - LQ9 - 4.03 bore
Crank - Callies - 4.0 stroke
Rods - Forged Compstar
Pistons - Diamond Custom Dome (14.0 compression)
Heads - All Pro
Rockers - T&D Shaft Mounted Rocker
Intake - Ported FAST 92 - next year we will go with throttle body and single plane. Picked all the money off the money tree this year.
Cam - Custom by Alan - hydraulic roller - dont want to be messing with valve springs with the solid roller.
Converter - Neal Chance 5200
Rear - Dana 60
Transmission - Turbo 400
Tuning - FMS
Tires - Goodyear Eagle - might need new tires
Shift Point - 7000RPM
Fuel - Sunoco 112
Thanks CoopZ06

Track Pictures
I have some track pictures, but they are too large to post, suggestions on making them fit?
The weight of the car is 3250 with driver and a full tank of fuel (still has stock gas tank). Gear ration is 4.11 and tire size is 28x10.5. It goes through the timing boxes at 7000 RPM which is my shift point.
The cam is approx 25x/26x and has .685 approx lift on the intake. It was spec'd for the ported FAST 92. I will eventually change the setup and go with a single plane and new cam.
Also, how do I update to single digit club?

Why did u go with an iron block if it is a dedicated race car. U could've saved some weight with and aluminum block? Car looks awesome and runs hard either way. Congratulations

Bad *** car. It's running good for sure. A little more tweaking and some good 60fts and it will be a mid 9 car for sure.
If Coleman Roddy can go 9.40 with less compression, you should be able to get there for sure. He did alot of tweaking and $$$$ to do that though.
