Default Vegeance Racing built 1999 427 C5 Corvette... Videos/Graphs/Pics inside

This is a nice example of a VERY docile street engine that makes plenty of low end power/torque and drives EXTREMELY well. Our customer previously had a 404 LS2 stroker built by another shop and had nothing but issues with it. He decided to build a new engine instead of repairing his 404. The only thing used from his 404 build was his cylinder heads. We sent the LS3 cylinder heads to Total Engine Airflow to be CNC ported.

Vehicle:
1999 C5 Corvette

Shortblock:
GM LS7 block
Callies 4" Crankshaft
Callies Connecting Rods
Diamond Pistons/Rings
Clevite Bearings
ARP Main Studs
All Machine work/Assembly by Proline Race Engines

Longblock:
CNC LS3 Cylinder Heads
Vengeance Spec Camshaft
Katech C5R Timing Chain
GM LS3 Rockers w/Comp Trunion kit
ARP Head Bolts
Comp 850-16 Lifters
Melling Hi Volume Oil Pump

Bolt ons:
Callaway Cold Air Induction
Ported LS3 Throttlebody
Ported LS3 Intake Manifold
American Racing 1 7/8 Longtubes with Catted X pipe
DMH Electric Cutouts
Meziere Electric Waterpump
160* Thermostat
Tick Adustable Master
Customer supplied Spec clutch
Pfadt Racing C5 Poly Bushing Kit
Pfadt Racing Coilovers

Here is the dyno graph

thats awsome ride....

i noticed it power peaks at 6000 and falls a bit down after 6100-6200 it falls down about 20RWHP from 6100-6500 rpms
is that normal for this setup..
(mine does this too) LS2 404 TFS215cc

Why does it fall so hard after 6k? My turd is just a H/C/I LS2 Stock short block and it doesnt fall until 65ish... Heads? intake outflowing heads?

I always thought bigger cube motors reved much higher...

i don't know if there was mention of the cam specs during the video, but the cam selection would be a huge indicator of where the curve "stop". From the idle clip, although my speakers on my computer suck, it sounds extremely mild and definitely based more towards a daily driver, street racing kind of cam...Good work Vengeance, i'm sure that car is a blast to drive

LS3 intake on a 427 = major restriction

My 402 with tfs 215 heads does the same thing. But the low end hp makes up for it.

How much would CNC ported LS7 heads/intake pick up with an LS7 specific cam on this setup?

I have stock LS3 heads/intake on my 12:1 compression 438ci setup and it made 528rwhp/516rwtq on a dyno that reads about 30rwhp higher than a Dynojet.
235/242 x115 cam but it has mid length headers on the combo.

Guys, as the first post states the intent of this build was to have a "very docile" street engine.... We were focused on power under the curve and drivability. We had no desire to rev the engine past 6500rpm
