Default 228r cam does mine peak to early?

Hey eveyone, I was wondering what RPM the 228r cam with stock heads should make peak hp at? Mine seems to peak at about 6k rpm. I understand it is a smaller cam and 110 lsa bring the power in earlier (i think) WHat do you all think

Looks about right to me, tons of power under the curve there!

I would think that's right where it should be.

Nice curves too. Is this with your tune? Wasn't it lower before?

Something went wrong. Posted both old graphs I had and Shane from TR said I have signs of valve float so I was already looking into messing with it, but went to the track last month and it was down 2mph even in the best air the car has seen.

So I'm doing a head swap to ported/milled 799 heads and likely a cam swap. Going to tackle the tune if I can. Take it slow.

I also have the 228r cam but mine is on a 112 and We basically have the same mods except I have a BBK intake and a ASP pulley. So this gives me an idea what to expect. I'm taking mine to the dyno in a couple weeks after I finish fooling around with the nitrous uping it to 150. So ill get a graph na and one with the kit. I'm hoping for right at 400rwhp na and 530 on the kit.

I have a guy supposed to send sell me a Pat G spec 230/236 111+2 if he can get it pulled in time.

If not, I am not positive.

I just looked at your graph again and I don't like how the trq just drops off at 5000 rpm, does the lsa play that big of a role in determinating the out come of the trq curve?

Torque is pretty much always going to dip to meet HP at 5250 unless there is something wrong.

That torque curve is excellent

great power under the curve and torque too. none wrong with cam peaking at 6k especially when it is carrying the power past 65.

looks just right. ive got a 230/230 cam and it had almost the same curve, i love the torque this thing makes and it pulls very very well up top. i actually used a tune from car with a 228r. Take 2nd gear up to about 4500-5000rpm and punch it, sweet spot(perfect for a roll race) in my opinion, youll love it. shift at 6500-6700 and have fun!

Looks about right, mine peaks at about 6200 with a little more duration. I would shift around 6400-6500.

I'm running a 228/230 on a 112LSA (vengeance vrx4) and my curves look very close to yours. Torque is huge. Mine held over 340 from about 3250-5800 peaking at 367tq. My cam also peaked at about 6k as well.

I wouldn't be worried a bit and I'm shifting at 6400 with mine bc it's a 99 with stock rod bolts.

not hijacking but posts on what i looking for arent really there, im looking into getting this 228/228 112lsa cam and matching it with patriot stage 2 5.3 heads (220cc) will this setup have better torque and rwhp results than his setup or will those heads just not work right for that cam. my mods are same as his but better intake manifold and i have underdrive pulleys

I don't see why you wouldn't make quite a bit more torque and hp since your comparing it to mine which has stock heads

Mine has Livernois 220cc 243 heads and made 366.5 torque through a stalled automatic and on a mustang dyno. From 3250-5600ish torque never dropped below 340. Those patriots will definitely keep the torque up there. Mine was 378.5hp 366.5 tq, so you definitely don't start breaking off torque with fairly mild heads...
