Talking almost stock dyno #'s

I had my 99 SS 6-speed with 98,000 miles tuned and dynoed today. My only mod is a lid. Came out with 293.5 HP and 314 tq. Any opinions on this??

Pretty good. Most of these engines are still in very good shape at 100K.

I have a 99 SS M6 as well, with the lid and SLP loudmouth I was making around 315-320 rwhp (that was with a LS1 Edit tune). A tune could easily get you another 10-15 rwhp.

My 2000 SS A4 with 990 miles on it did 299.3 hp and 311.3 tq (SAE). It had the standard SS exhaust, not the Dual Dual. The only thing different than the way it left the showroom was Mobil1 oil at 700 miles.

Do my numbers seem low?? I paid for a tune as well. They claim that I am 25 hp over stock now-346hp over 320hp at the engine.

.
Stock was overrated and most people see a 290-310 completely stock. You do have alot of milage & wear/tear however, which I could definately see bringing down the HP alittle bit. That's not that bad, throw some mods on there and let the fun begin.

What kind of dyno was used? Dynojet? Mustang? Dyno Dynamics? Also, what were the baseline numbers before the tune?

I had no baseline done. I wish I would have so I knew what I really got from the tune. The car does feel a lot stronger now. I really was most concerned with correcting the speedo after I changed the axle ratio last year(3:42-3:73). I figured if I got some extra HP out of the deal, great! Any way you look at it a dynotune is $450-$550. I could not fix my speedo for much less anyway.

I guess that without a baseline there is no way to measure what I gained.

The main question is- are my numbers good for a lid and a tune?

I do have almost 100,000 miles on the clock.

I am happy with what I had done, except I was really hoping for over 300 HP.

Z98- Is it not possible that between the lid and tune I am up 25 HP??

A lid and tune could net 25 rwhp but I would think it would be easier to gain with the catback exhaust as well.

The 2001's and 2002's are the cars that gain alot from the tune.
