If I remember correctly, isn't the TPIS TB you used an oval shape TB? I wouldn't expect an oval shaped TB to perform very well on an intake with a circular opening, being that the TB is what, a 78mmx90mm TB going onto FAST's 90mmx90mm opening?

What I'd like to see is a FAST intake with FAST TB against the TPIS Intake w/ TPIS TB. Hopefully FAST will get off their ***** and get us some TBs!!!

Do you have a baseline before intakes?

This was a fresh build-up for the Heads/Cam class at the SBSO so we did not do baseline runs with an LS6 intake. We will be dyno testing the FAST intake with their 90mm TB as soon as we receive one, and of course those results will be posted!

We didn't use the Oval TB on the 90mm FAST intake. I believe it was Cartek that had that setup at the corvette tuner shootout though (w/ adapter) and it seemed to do pretty well.

Blue Graph = TPIS Oval TB, TPIS Oval LS6 Intake
Red Graph = TPIS Round 90MM TB, FAST 90MM Intake

Here's the right link to the graph: http://www.texas-speed.com/images/90mmTSP.jpg

well I'll be damned; looks like it might not be all it's cracked up to be; but dare I ask how much is the full TPIS setup? I guess the only advantage of an LSX may be the bosses for direct port and the blow off plug....unless someone can find a way to port the inside?

Was an 85mm used on both applications? If so, thats the bottleneck. You really need to run the 90mm setups MAFless in SD tune to reall see the benafit of such a large mouth I'd think.

If both setups are still breathing through the same smaller diameter MAF why would you see that great of a difference?

MAFless would be the way to go with the 90mm. Of coarse now, having 90mm intake, 90mm TB, 85mm MAF, you still will probably have a restriction along the line somewhere. You can go as far to say that the current air lid technology isn't enough. IMO the 90mm stuff (and matching components) is probably best left to high revving 346ci engines, or anything with big cubes behind it.

verbs - I think that setup, intake and TB was in the 1500 range if I remember right!
