Default 2007 C6 Z06, T-Trim A&A system, Tick Custom camshaft

We just finished up an A&A T-trim system and custom camshaft install on a sweet 2007 C6 Z06. We weren't trying to set any dyno records with this one; just a nice safe tune. Only 5.5 lbs of boost and 16 degrees of timing up top. In addition to the cam and blower, we also installed an NX methanol injection system. Already installed on the car was a set of long-tube headers and high flow cats. The bump in the AFR at 3400 rpms is where the methanol kit starts injecting at 2 lbs of boost. There is no doubt with a more aggressive tune or a pound or two more boost this Z could hit 700 rhwp or more!

This car is a show car first and foremost and the customer wanted as aggressive of a camshaft that I could grind, while still keeping 24-26mpg on the highway and not losing all drivability. The cam is rather large for such a small blower, but I am very impressed with the under the curve power it produced in spite of the overlap the profile carries.

-Stock Internal 427 C.I." LS7
-Stock LS7 intake
-Stock TB
-Vortech V.2 T-trim blower/A&A kit
-Tick Performance Custom 238/254 .652"/.652" 114lsa camshaft
-Brian Tooley Platinum Springs and 3/8" push rods
-Stock LS7 heads and compression
-NX methanol injection
-1x7/8" long tubes w/ high flow cats
-Stock cat-back with electric cut-outs AND bi-mode mufflers

We ran into an issue with the Lambo doors this Corvette has and how we mount the methanol pump. On cars like this that are never driven in the rain, we use the stock windshield reservoir as the methanol reservoir as it is much cleaner on a Vette that has no room to install a tank anywhere but the trunk. It also has its own low level warning system as well built into the heads up display if it runs low or out of methanol. Since the lambo door bracket and hinge would of hit the pump, our lead technician and shop foreman Matt Goins fabricated a bracket himself. Took him about 4 hours to make this and it works/looks great!

SAE dyno graph:

STD dyno graph:

Boost peaked at 5.5psi around 6000rpm. As you can see power holds very nicely, but plummets after 6500-6600rpm. One day when this thing gets a forged bottom end we will fix that! For now I am extremely happy with the under the curve power the car produces as it's over 500rwtq for what seems like forever!

I'll post idle videos and revs soon! Enjoy!

That's great. The T trim is a nice blower sucks that A&A hasn't wised up like ECS and utilize it as the base blower cause the si is tired in my opinion.

Yes, this is all that will be utilized until the bottom end is built. Unless he decides he wants to push his luck with a 3500 engine block...which I wouldn't do.

At least for the C6 Z06 kits they should. I agree that the Si is just way too small for a 427, and pretty much already maxed out on a LS3.

This video was shot through the Bi-mode mufflers, bypasses open.

All three exhaust variations can be heard in this video. Stock mufflers no bypasses open, bypasses open and then electric cut-outs open! Enjoy!

I'll go even further as to say the Si should be LS1 only. I know of three friends that ran that blower and the only impressive one is on a LS1. On the LS3 it barely made 640 and was maxed. Of course I'm a procharger fan but the T trim is a really nice blower along with the ysi.

I have the stock NPP on my car also. Best sounding exhaust in my opinion.

I'm blown away time and time again at how much the A&A kits pick up on the LS1/LS6 C5's and the LS2/LS3 C6's we install them on. We see at the very least every single time a 175rwhp gain with 7-9psi and 75% of the time it's more like 200-225rwhp. We've even had some cars pick up 250rwhp that are still only utilizing around 9-11psi of boost.

The Si is tapped out at 650rwhp efficiency wise on a 3.622" stroke engine IMO. Of course you could probably get 700rwhp out of one by spinning it's ***** off, but that's not something we as a shop would want to do.

I agree 100% about the exhaust though. Did you hear how quiet the exhaust got when he closed the bypasses in the mufflers?!?! Best of both worlds for sure.

Agreed on the blower points. Definitely heard how quiet it got. It trips me out all the time when I'm cruising around how I can have it open and be loud then almost invisible.

With the E-cutouts open it's a whole different ball game though!

Thumbs up

The A&A and ECS kits for C5/C6 'Vettes really are amazing.

Can't wait to see their C7 efforts.

Why is the owner BOTH limiting to 5.5 psi AND running methanol???

I completely understand wanting it very safe, but doing both seems like overkill, though I have no personal experience with the LS7.

Nice work.

The pistons are the weakest of all ls engines in the ls7 engines. Can't be too safe.

Owner reported back that he was able to squeak out over 400 miles on a tank of gas highway mileage!
