Default Dyno Result: Dry Sump Carb LS1 with 243's and Crane Cam

My mild road race build by Byron Koury Racing Engines

* freshened ex ASA LS1 short block with Katech rod bolts
* stock 243's with ISKY 165-A valve springs
*Comp rocker trunion upgrade
*Crane 550/550 236/246 106 LSA
* 3 stage Aviaid dry sump system
* Performer RPM intake
* Holley 80541 650 cfm carb

On superflow engine dyno made:

487 HP @ 6400
451 torque @ 3900

400 plus pds ft torque from 3200-6400

should be an excellent, reliable road race motor for SCCA club racing

With a dual plane, did you try any bigger carbs 750/850 or any spacers? Was the intake ported or as cast?

Cool thanks. I'm looking at Aviaid's 2 stage dry sump that mounts on the cylinder head, retains A/C, and uses the OEM pump for pressure. How do you like their products?

We tried an 830 race prepped carb, the numbers were about the same. We feel on the track the 650 will give better response off the corners.

1" spacer

as cast intake

Our road race Camaro has the same system (3 stage) with ARE pan, worked flawlessly at Daytona in Sept. Car ran its' best laps ever (1.56) and hit over 180 in the tri-oval. This was despite having a non functioning Gleason-Torsen diff.

The car is basically a tube frame Trans Am 2 type Camaro that runs in club racing. Motor is a built LS6 @ 550 HP.

We race again this weekend at Daytona with HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing)

Anymore light you can she'd on the build? Maybe a dyno graph? I like to the carb builds and the specifics as they are not as common. What particular class is this for if you don't mind me asking...

It was gonna be a starter motor for my tube frame 69 Corvette build for SCCA SPO class, but likely now will go into another road race project at our shop.

It could be an SCCA GTA motor.

Racing at Daytona this weekend with Historic SportsCar Racing. Maybe get a graph up later.

Awesome numbers man....and that hood on your Vette is hands down the nicest I've ever seen on a c5/6 Vette, what brand/name is that?

Factoring in ~15-18% drivetrain loss inside a car that would put the engine right around 400rwhp.

I bet that 236/246 106 sounds sick nasty though. What ICL is it on ?

You are gonna laugh.... the hood is one as used on the Howe Trans Am 2 Camaro's. Just a drop on, light weight hood that we cut down to Vette size.
Very Light and very cheap.

On our tube frame road race cars with Jerico tranny's and tricked up rear ends we have not seen that much drivetrain loss. More like 10-12%.

Not sure on ICL, have to check.

One of our road race cars did really well on the big dyno yesterday at Daytona International clocking a 1:55 flat lap in HSR qualifying. The car is a tube frame Howe Camaro very similar to the Trans Am 2 cars. Has a 550 HP LS6.
