I have a VERY NICE Comp cam that I am selling from my built 414ci LS2... It has 1500 mi on it... PERFECT shape... I am actually going bigger w some 1.8 HS RR.... It would work really nice for ya. and I could save you a few $$$.... I don't drag race my car BUT I do 1/2 mi and 1 mi events... PM me if interested.
COMP LSR 239/247 .624 .624 114lsa.

If I'm not mistaken it all depends on the size of your motor... In a 5.3 then yes, but in a 502 no... bigger motors can hide bigger cams easier supposedly

That's how I feel about mine. I want bigger now too. It's a sickness.

Just had a cam only LS2 Vette go 440/414rw with a LSL 227/235 112+4. I have that same cam in my TBSS but on a 110+4. Sounds nasty. I will have some dyno numbers when I get my exhaust finished. 400rw cam only isn't a tall order. You can do short duration and just put it on a tight lobe sep if you want a choppy idle.

From everything I've read it should clear (barely) with stock heads.

That's what I've "read" too, but with something that big, I would measure. Not all engines are the same in regards to clearance.

Sounds pretty stout. Any numbers or ET's? I like the higher compression with the LS3 heads. You don't see that all that much.
