Default Cool Dyno HP Wheel to crank converter

Cool site for calculating rear wheel hp to crank hp. Just type in numbers and click which direction your trying to figure out. Wheel to crank or crank to wheel.

theres no option for the 4speed auto and the modern auto and 3 speed auto generate more power than if it were a manual is that right? I always thought stickshifts made more HP thru less frictional loss? still fun though

If you input rear wheel HP the autos will show more crank HP because they lose more from crank to wheels. So to get the same RWHP as the manual they make a lot more at the crank.

I would use the traditional auto (3speed) for a 4l60e. It's going to be similar to an older 3 speed trans...probably fall between a th350 and th400 for power loss if I had to guess.

The calculator seems reasonable to me for my application. At 420rwhp it guesstimates 500-520 depending on which auto I select. Not sure if that estimation would be based on locked or unlocked torque converter though.

For purposes of the '09-'15 Cad CTS-V's, both manual & auto, it seems to be right on & agrees with the graphing that I did a few years back on a sample total of about 70 vehicles.

Default Dyno Calulator

Had a crate LS3-480hp put in my car at Tims Rodehavens speed shop in Masontown. His wheel dyno readout matched that link exactly. Like Omega Doom says...still fun. Sorry to break subject, I know that upsets people, but Stopped at Sun Chevrolet on rt 19 where Yenko started. Had a new 1 of 50 yenko Camaros in showroom. God it was beautiful. 10 went to Dubia,6 are already totaled. Strange that hood scoop had 700 hp, which is at the wheels. Salesman said motor pushed over 800. You would think they would put that on the scoop. Anybody has some extra money I could use a nice Christmas present

Where'd you see the torque at on there? I may have overlooked it and I wish they had a 4 speed auto. I would guess half way between 627hp-649hp through a stalled auto lol
