Default TTP 395CI Hits 509RWHP

We hit the rollers to day with "Nlinnear's" 00 trans am. The car runs sweet, some of the mods are as follows:

- TTP 395CI Forged Bottom End LS6 Block ("All Stroke")
- TTP Stage 2 LS6 Heads
- 90mm LSX Intake w/ FAST 90mm T/B
- SLP 85mm MAF
- TTP Equalizer V.3 Camshaft
- Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8" Stepped LT Headers
- 3" Catted Y-Pipe

We made 509SAE RWHP and 471SAE RWTQ through cats and a full Borla 3" catback. Full belts, full tire pressure, no dyno tricks. This car was dyno'd as NLinnear drives it on the street.

Enjoy,

would you mind posting a graph with full smoothing and the A/F ratio not so bunched up? What was the C/R?

Unfortunately since we are still waiting for our dynojet to arrive (3 weeks and counting), we use an outside facility. The smoothing was not turned down for some reason. I believe with the smoothing the car hit 500rwhp.

As a normal practice we never post A/F ratios.

C/R works out to about 10.8:1.

The car is running the stock m6 tranny, spec 3i and steel flywheel.

These runs were done with only 60 miles on the motor. Once our customer breaks it in, we'll be getting him back in here to do some more dyno runs. The motor should loosen up a bit and pull more hp. Still I believe this is the highest dynoing 395 at least on these boards? Bottom line is to make our customer 100% satisfied.

So look in about 3 weeks and I will have the new dyno graphs up for ya.

Why not post the A/F ratio, is it a secret? Nice numbers either way?.

I hope to dyno higher once I finally get my 90mm setup on the car but congrats on hitting the 500mark.

I have seen Futral make one that barely was over the 500 mark also.

Those are the only 2 I have seen hit 500.

Futral did over 500rwhp with 5.3L heads, LS6 intake and smoothing on 4 if I remember correctly. On another setup with 6.0L heads he got 517rwhp/490rwtq with the customers choice of cam.

I think this setup has more left in it. Let her break in a little.

VINCE: I definitely agree with you, this setup has more in it. We did a baseline tune, George spent about 2 hours on this tune.. He definitely wants to put more time into it once the motor is broken in.

We are very pleased with these numbers especially since they are through cats and a full exhaust.

Exactly!! Obviously this customer has emissions where he lives and needs to keep the cats on the car. I know on my 346ci I loss 20rwhp putting my cats back on. Now I did not have high flow cats, but I would think on a bigger motor you would lose some horsepower with cats.

The dyno graph looks awesome!! I am sure the customer is having fun right now..

The customer, NLinnear, lives in NY.. He also didn't want something that is too loud on the street. He wanted a hp/tq monster that he can drive everyday, and that is what we are delivering to him. Still doing the final idle tune for him and he should be driving out top of this week.

And yes, he is quite happy!

Congs TTP and NLinnera.
Why dont you guys post A/F ratio?
It is almost a given anyways and most cars run the best in the same area.
I am just wondering.

We normally don't post A/F ratio because with some combinations we do some cars like to be richer/leaner.. Especially when we put in a 'generic' cam (Something that everyone can buy, which is not the equalizer v.3 that we put in the car), we like to keep our secrets. Put it this way, we have a car running stage 5.3l heads and a big 'generic' cam that liked to be in the 12.5:1 ratio...

Why give up tuning hints, when everyone else is trying to protect their secrets we'll just jump on the bandwagon

The A/F ratio shouldn't be a concern to anyone but NLinnear and TTP.

Fair enough.
I dont care to much but this is the first time I have heard of the AF being secret.

I feel that every tune on every car is a little different.
Put the same setup on a different car and the AF might be 12.7 or 13.1 where it makes the best power.
Every good tuner already knows how to get very good power out of our cars and as long as the tuner is willing to spend hours making sure you have the best power then it really dosen't matter where the A/F ends up. (as long as your not real lean)

Anyways congs again and thanks for the reply.
