Default Any 680-730rwhp LS N/A builds

Are there any average 700rwhp N/A hydraulic roller streetcars? I have a ZO6 with 621rwhp from H/C/I now. But I was considering building either a 468 or 480ci LS7 motor. My goal is 700+rwhp. If so what all did it take to get there? Thank you for any help

I just read an article that stated a good hydraulic short travel lifter will rpm to 7700 rpms. But as they say when your building for hp it's all in the heads. Solids will get you more than any hydraulic though. And the bigger the better.

Check out Josh B’s build over on CorvetteForum. He’s right at 700 rwhp.
Being a Z06 guy, you’ve probably already seen it...

700 RWHP from 427" with an Intake that fits under the stock
Z06 Hood is a tall order. I would start with MamoMotorsport
LS7 Heads and the New Fast Tunnel Ram with a Cam Motion
Low Lash Solid Roller with 12.5:1 & E85 and cut/trim Hood as
Needed.

To stay under the Hood (Flame Suit On) I would use MMS LS3
Heads with the FAST Mid Length Runner because I Think
(Gut Feeling) the MSD will limit HP over 7200+ RPM more then
The LS3 VS LS7 Heads when we are talking 7500-8000 RPM.

Just remembered after my battery died late last night,
Member either here or CF, Z06Tanner, I think has
Developed his version of a "Mid-Length" Runner for the
FAST LS7 Intake, claims 30 RWHP VS MSD. I don't know
If he is producing or selling yet. His cylinder head porting
Looks incredible. Another potential option.

LLSR is a bad gimmick.

If you're going solid, run a real camshaft.

Navy, he’s willing to go big inch engine to get there. You’ve seen Josh’s build over there. He’s right there with a ported MSD, but of course now he’s going hi-ram and cut hood to find more up top. You are correct on the MSD limits.

From what I've seen here, LLSR is an "improved version" of the old-school solid lifter setup.

You already have the TQ for 700 rwhp. You’re revving no higher than Stock as it is

Compression and intake manifold are limiting factors in these builds. I have a MSD on my LS7 and it makes 620+rwhp at 6100-6600 but falls off after that. Its the sacrifice I made in the intake and camshaft. I wanted it to fit in my C5Z under the stock hood. As for the cam I wanted it to drive nice putting around at 1500rpm through my neighborhood.

I think a solid cam, intake and more RPM 700+ is achievable.

There’s a guy in Houston with a 523ci RHS block in his C6Z. He made right at 701whp with ported LS7 heads and a FAST 102. Last I heard, he was having a sheet metal intake built for it.

Thank you for all the responses. I was trying to keep it a hydraulic motor and not turn it above 7000 RPM being that this is a street car and it will be ran on the highway. I was talking to HPR and they decided on a 480ci. Probably going to use a LS2. Believe we were going to do brodix heads and a cam around 750 lift. Everything was going to be titanium and the valvetrain was definitely going to be on point. I will find out more as the week goes

Good choice. Erik knows his ****.

What bore and stroke are you using to get 480ci? Seems like that’s tall deck territory.

What's so special about a LS2 block?

I Just installed a LS2 in my car over the with and it runs great. Guys seem to forget about a LS2 block and jump right to a LS3 block.

This guy is a member on here, and lives not to far from me. I've been to the shop that tuned his car and they said it made 630 rwhp on their Mustang dyno. Lots of money in this setup. They said the intake alone was like 7k lol

Norris Motorsports can fit the MSD LS3 intake into Corvette's without issue. The cowl isn't hacked or from what I could tell even touched. Definitely some hotrod magic going on with the trick install.

Horsepower Research, I think is Eric Koenig's shop for early LS fame can custom build a 527 that's rumored to make 750+ whp all NA.
