Highest horsepower - 5.7L???
What is the highest rwhp that you have heard of for a 5.7L (non-stroker)
motor w/ no nitrous or supercharger/turbo?
As far as I can tell, 450 rwhp is about all you can get out of these motors.....

Theres been a few on this site to go over 500rwhp with a 5.7 N/A. Jason99T/A is one I know for sure. I am making over 450rwhp with a fairly small cam, I know you can get a good bit more if you go bigger.

My car is putting down 480/437 with my stock GM LS1 shortblock, AFR 205 heads, and a 224 Int. lobe on a 114 LSA.
Just dropping the 225's on my current combination would put it solidly in the 490's....more aggressive cam timing is easily worth another 10-15. Do the math.
I bet quite a few "independants" will see 500 plus with the small chamber 225's when they are released.
Testing on my car will commence in the next 6-8 weeks hopefully.
Regards,
Tony M.
PS......I haven't let you guys down yet and I'm confident these are the results that lie ahead.

Custom cam is on the way and hoping to inch closer to the magical 500rwhp figure, without any "dyno friendly" mods (i.e. full belts, pump gas, full exhaust, 12 bolt, huge wheels/tires etc....)
we shall see!

We're talking STOCK cubic inches here. No nitrous or blower. 11:1 CR or less (pump gas). Judging from the responses, there's not hardly any 5.7L's reaching 500 yet, but getting close....

did i studder....i meant what i said, stock cubes, no NOS, no blower, thats fine. I've yet to see someone make a full out 346. i said it before and ill say it again 450rwhp is nothing if you truely are going for a full out 346 combo, its nothing to laugh at either.
