Uncalibrated dyno possibly? (I hope)

Uncalibrated dyno possibly? (I hope)
I have a 1998 Pontiac Trans-Am that has a few mods done to it and was wondering if these dyno test results were correct because I really do not think they were.
Describing my 98 TA:
Automatic
Comp Cam (do not have the numbers on me but it is a half racing cam) and computer tuned with LS1 Edit (this is where I got the dyno from)
True-Dual Exhaust 2.5" all the way back with no cats (has 3" longtube headers as well)
Free mods
Smooth Bellow
SLP High Flow Air Lid
That is all but it only dyno'd at 278.5 RWPH and like 260 Tourque and I thought those numbers were atrocious. The Cam was degreed correctly but there just seems like there is no way possible that this is right. I immediately called my friend who told me that I should have at least 315 RWP and told him the results and he said that the Dyno must have been uncalibrated. Any thoughts because this car is way to fast to have just that many HP. Thanks in advance

Well I don't exactly know for sure. BTW I also have a K&N filter on there as well. Um I will describe the dyno for you if this helps. It had a screen that showed MPH and RPM's while it was running and beyond that I do not know how to describe it. All I want to know is that my car should have more than that to the wheel. Thanks man for your help!

Go get it dynoed somewhere else, then you will know if its your car or the dyno. I hate to tell you but I doubt its the dyno. What did the people that dynoed it say? With those mods I think you should be higher even on a mustang dyno. Good luck finding the problem.

so u dont know whats in ur car????? find another dyno, if those numbers keep showing up then something is seriously wrong. maybe the tune is completely fucked, or maybe ur running on 7 cylinders. are u sure ur not throwing code??? or maybe they were deleted by ls1edit. u need someone to take a good look in ur pcm and vcm settings.

I had them run an OBD II on my car and Engine misfire came up as one of them and TPS came up as the other one. I have fixed the TPS and have not much of an idea on the misfire. I am going to put new spark plugs in there shortly. I asked them about the engine misfire and they said that would not have enough effect on the dyno to matter. So I am now left wondering whether it is my car or the dyno. Thanks to those who answered. Anyone else have some more helpful advise for me?

Well another thing is that I would not have smoked a Vette earlier today (50th anniversary) if my engine was running really crappy. Another thing was that I was running very lean when I brought it there and they fixed that problem as well so I gained 30RWHP just by tuning it. It started at like 244 RWHP and made its way up to 278.5 by the end.

I think you should take it to another dyno

Keep in mind that a misfireing cylinder will cause the wide band O2 to indicate a lean mixture, unburned oxygen. Is it possible that they covered up the problem by richening it up.

So basically I just need to take it to a mechanic or someone who knows a lot about these things to see whats wrong if anything. Also if you guys do not mind would you guys guess how many HP this thing should have then. Thanks in advanced once again.

Post the dyno graph, we can tell a lot more by the graph than a description. Its a 98, possible that there are other things wrong like collapsed lifters, etc.
Most likely if it is a dynojet there shouldnt be any problems (i.e. no need to calibrate them they are from the factory). Was that corrected or uncorrected #s?

your prlly running on 7 cylinders. my friend (ls1) had a misfire after header intall....he lost to a stock a4 lt1, so yes that would ut u at about 260 rwhp.
get some new plugs and make sure they are gapped right.
