Default Dynoed the 415 solid roller today

Got the basic tune down. Pretty close to where it needs to be. Motor has about 100 miles on it so it will loosen up a bit. The weather couldnt be worse for dynoing here in Tampa. It was raining with 90% humidity...even though the Dynojet weatherstation said 40% humidity. It didnt correct for anything. SAE and actual where within 1 hp. It was about 90 degrees and 90% humidity...SAE and actual HP was about 555 rwhp and about 485 rwtq. I think with some more tweaking and break in I can get another 20 rwhp. My goal was 575 rwhp. The peak wasnt all that great...but it never drops below 525 whp all the way to 7500...it just keeps going and going. This should work well for what I want to do with the nitrous setup.

The weather was terrible today, but those numbers are still impressive. Keeping upping the bar. I think you easily have another 20rwhp.. CONGRATS!!!!

Hmmm, made that much on a hot muggy day with very little correction factor? wonder what it'll make once it's good and broken in on a nice cool DA friendly day.

Actually Allan it does seem to want a larger cam. No more lift...but maybe a few degrees of duration

awesome man, it sounds strong as hell, nice numbers too. Was the dyno with the slicks on or z06 wheels?

******* sweet numbers.
I think 575 will be a piece of cake.
I could see maybe ever 590+ with better weather and some more break in miles. Congs.

BTW I owe you some money.
Jeremy is coming down sat do you want me to give it to him to give to you or just paypal you?
Sorry I completly forgot.

Those are very good numbers. I must say I am impressed!

One question though. Why a Speed Density tune on an N/A car?

get rid of the MAF....and it helps idle. I may experiment with the MAF later. This is the setup we had when it was a 385...same cam and heads etc. The SD tune really helped out getting the 385 to idle with the big cam. It idles much better now that the motor has 30 more cubes...so a MAF may not be out of the question.

JZ...yeah...paypal is fine. Paypal acct is alljonz@aol.com
Ill give em to you for $125...8 pistons and 8 rods (one rod with spun bearing and overheated) Ill be sure to give him the build sheet so you can copy the 385 using a stock crank. Should be able to do a nice cheap 385.

Why did you have MAF issues? We haven't had any problem getting some pretty roudy setups to idle like kittens. Who did your tuning?

Good numbers Al! I'm glad Erik and HPE took care of you. Erik does an awesome job with the motor build-up/assembly and you will be hard pressed to find someone better.

Quit playing around with this n/a stuff.... spray it!!

Very nice numbers! What is the Bore x Stroke to get 415 cubes out of an iron block?

4.062 bore and 4.0 stroke. This block was sonic checked to ensure no core shift. It was originally prepped by ARE back in the day and was a 385...then Erik at HPE took it out another .002 and orderd the custom pistons and added the 4" Eagle crank and Compstar rods.
