Default Dyno results with TEA 1.5 5.3L and Futral F6 =422.5/396.2

Finally got my H/C package installed and tuned over the last couple weeks. Have been wanting a H/C package since I got the car in 98, and now finally got it. A couple local F-Body buddies installed it in my garage last weekend and I got it dyno tuned yesterday.Pre-tune driving felt O.K, but expected more maybe. It idled fine and drove fine but was really expecting more. I drove it to Ft. Myers to see Jeremy Formato for a dyno tune.He came highly recommended and I could see why. He made the car very user friendly and drivable and on top of that got an extra 22hp out of it.

I got a dyno done a month or so ago, which I felt was low at 324 with boltons.
Pre-tune baseline yesterday was 400 rwhp but I forget the baseline torque.
Jeremy managed to get it to 422.5 hp and 396.2tq.
I am very happy with the results and drivability.Maybe in the next couple weeks I can make it too the track for some new times.I have some drag radial waiting to be tried out.Hope the stock rear can take it.

Jeremy didn't like that fact that I had bosch +4 plugs in there. He recommended I go and change to some NGK tr6's. We were having some knock issues.
My combo is
TEA stage 1.5 5.3L heads, non milled.
Futral's F6 cam which specs at 226/230 575/595 112 +4
LS6 intake, non egr.
7.35 pushrods
plus boltons listed below.

Here's a link to the graph.

Great numbers! You gained ~100 rwhp with heads, cam, and intake.

Are those the new TEA heads? Do you have the flow numbers on the heads?

The 324hp dyno I feel was 10hp low maybe. But still very close to 100 rwhp gain.Very pleased.Even though Futral sent me the wrong cam, (112 lsa instead of the 114 that I ordered)I am very happy with it as well.Glad they messed up now. Drives really well, great throttle response from 2500rpm up and really screams at 4000+.Will try shifting at 6500.

Hey man the link is down to your graph and flow sheet. Nice results! It is amazing what a good tuner can do with a car. Congrats on the new found power.

I should be having my car tuned by Jeremy in a couple weeks.

Of course now that the heads/cam package is done you need nitrous.

Those are very nice gains!

Just out of curiosity, why did you go with the 7.350 pushrods instead of 7.400's with your unmilled heads? Did you check the preload?

I was sent the 7.35 pushrods from Brent at TEA, I figured he knew best.I did call them the day before the install and was assured by Brian they were what to use.No, preload was not checked.Maybe they will chime in here to verify?

I haven't ruled nitrous out yet!
There is a guy here building up a 5.0 mustang I know, who has basically challenged me.He plans on spraying the crap out of it, but he's ALOT of talk.I was also **** talking my boss who just bought AMG CL55 that should be in the high 12's.As long as I hold them off I'll say no to the spray.

Nice gain. With my current setup I am using the 7.4pr as well. I was told these were fine for the Patriot heads and my old TEA heads...

Great results. Gotta love the 1.5's, and yes, I would think 7.4's due to no milling. I'd call TEA to confirm. The 1.5s respond great to traditional split. F6 should drive/idle great. Congrats.

I pm'd Brent to get a answer on the pushrods. What would the pro's and cons of 7.35 vs 7.40? Seems to run very well.

Thanks for setting everything up for the 1st Jeremy.

I prefer th 7.350's even with unmilled heads because it sets the preload where I like to see it. It is really a personal preference.

Congrat's on the numbers I bet it feels a ton better.

Those AMGs will MOVE!!! There was one at the track back in march running low 13's and high 12's. I was impressed, but the guy did say it retailed for 150k

Yeah he paid around $130,000.00 for it, so I won't feel to bad if he beats my $10,000.00 camaro.I doubt he will ever go to the track though. He is thinking of doing some mods that won't void his warrenty, some Mercedes tuner.Even the Rentech one I have read about that was $189,000.00 after mods only went high 12's.Guess the weight is the issue.
I'm actually more worried about the stang guy if he ever comes through with his buidup. He's saying I'd better spray it.Lots of talk though.
