Default Dart 225cc Dyno Results Inside!

Futral Motorsports just told me the car put down 471/415. The heads are box stock, milled .020 and 2.055/1.60 valves. The FAST 90/90 intake manifold was port matched.

Was this a speed density tune or did you tune using your MAF?

I bet leaving those big 225cc intake ports as cast really helps produce a better air/fuel mixture for the small 346 engine.

Stock short block, 78,000miles, stock MAF, 30lb ford motorsports injectors, stock rockers, no dyno tricks. Meaux racing flowed the afr 205cc heads, the dart 225cc heads and found the afr flowed 280s and the dart in the low 300s. Not bad bad for saving quite a few hundred dollars.

Do you have the flow sheet specs 205 vs. 225? Which one has more low/mid lift flow on the small bore 346 ?

Are you going to state the specs of the cam, or are they top secret.

I'd like more info on the entire combo as well. M6/A4, cam/headers/compression, octane fuel 91 or 93 and every little detail.

If you look at Dart's spec sheet the dart 205's flows better than the 225's up to 0.500 where the 225 has 5cfm on it. Exhaust flow is the same.
Take a look here http://www.dartheads.com/manager/uploads/LS1Flyer.pdf

There has been many independent flowtests of AFR 205 cylinder heads....most have them just under or just over 300 CFM's. Every flow bench is a little different (alot having to do with fixtures, radius plates, clay, etc.) Seems the 225 Dart numbers were a little soft as well...perhaps the bench is very conservative or some other factors come into play here like the AFR heads were milled excessively etc.

Bottom line here is that we advertise accurately and guarantee our flow numbers to be plus or minus 2.5% which covers most issues in a production environment. If the owner of those heads would have contacted AFR we would have either improved his current heads or replaced them at no cost assuming we validated (on our equipment) that the flow numbers were indeed soft. I urge all of you to contact me personally if you're ever in such a position.

Let's keep this thread on topic and find out more about the Dart headed combination which looks very promising...

Thanks,
Tony Mamo

I am looking at a set of dart 225's and they are 2.05's on the intake not 2.08, unless the box is marked incorrectly. The flyer also says 2.05.

For those who want to know about transmission and cam, all you had to do was look at my sig. I have a Spec 3 CLUTCH and the RJ-15 cam on a 112 +2.

the intake valve is a 2.05 i have a set of the 225's waiting to go on my car. I hope for 430rwhp when i put them on. I have a 224/224 .576/.576 112lsa crane cam. I know 430 sounds high but a man can hope right.

Yeah, my eyes popped out a little when I pictured Alan dialing in that RJ-15. I bet it sounds sick, too. Let's see a vid...

Congrats, really nice numbers.
