Default UNTUNED TR227 cam only results...

HP making mods

LS6 intake
Mac Mids
Cut-out
SLP Lid
SLP Pulley
TR227 Cam

379.2 HP 370.9 TQ. With NO tune! Needless to say, i am totally impressed. It pulled all the way untill 6200 rpm right before the rev limiter. HP curve was still rising at 6200, and Air/fuel went to 10.5:1

With a good tune, i thing close to 400 rwhp is possible; what do you all think?

Even without a tune, the driveability is like stock, and the idle sounds good, not too choppy, but noticable. I would seriously reccomend this cam to ANYONE who drive their car as much as i do(700 miles a week)

All I can say is congrats and enjoy. You already know a tune and LT's will net more. That said, enjoy. There's something to be said of making decent power with mid lengths and no tune (altough the tune is important for reasons other than peak hp).

only real concern is Hot start-ups, sometimes you have to give it gas to start, but only when it is hot sometimes. Cold starts are flawless. Driveability is perfect, no bucking real bucking. Lean it out a little up top, and i think it willbe close to 400rwhp with mid lengths. I like the mids for ground clearance, i have to drive into the city everyday for school, and the road are really shitty. I can not complain about the headers at all, i will go longtubes when i do something more extreme......408 or something . Not bad for a car that is driven 700 miles a week or more.

The driveability is so good with the baby cam, i almost wish i would have went a little bigger; i guess i have a good combo of driveability, and HP. I am overall satified

Is that a 227/227 on a 112 or 114? I'm leaning towards a 228/228 112. I want to go the biggest I can with a 112LSA without a huge lope. I need a quiet car with a ton of power. If I can hit 400rwhp that would be sweet. Do you have a manual?

Its the thunder racing reverse spilt 227/224 .572/.568 114 LSA cam. it doesnt lope much at all when the cutout is closed, when the cutout is open, its a different story; it sounds badass.
I have the best of both worlds with the SLP dual/dual OEM exhaust, and it only cost 4 hp to run in silent mode

700 miles a week! Wow, that's a lot.

How has mileage changed after installing the cam?

Nice numbers indeed! Get that thing tuned and you'll gain you mpg back and then some, not to mention the extra power.

Is it possible you are also in the throttle more now?

What's the latest? Do you regret not going with the 230/224, or are you still excited about the 227/224?

Is your milage still @ 19-20?

I think 400 hp with a tune is definately possible. I have similar mods with a comp cam, and hit 382 hp untuned. I hit 400.88 rwhp after the tune.

wish my tune #'s were as good as some of you guys untuned numbers. Great numbers man, and you will be real close to 400 w/ a tune, get some LT's and an Underdrive pulley and you will def. see 400+. If you are worried about ground clearance w/ LT's, go pacesetter, my friends and I have done like 4 sets now and the clearance is great, and we live in speedbump city.

I've had good result's with the TR227 good cam. I've never dyno it, but it never stops pulling. I have gotting the best times by shifting it around 6800.

I love the TR227, i am really glad i didnt go with the TR230 being that i drive 700 miles a week, and didnt really want that 111lsa. Even with the 114 and the cut-out open, it sounds badass. It gets complinet (or diry looks) constantly. My last tank of gas was 18mpg, my dyno pulls, and severl wide open passes where in there along with a lot of city and highway mileage. Normally it is a little better.

It really needs a tune. it pulls real hard all the way to the stock limiter (i NEED a tune) I am not getting near what this cam can do beacuse of the stock tune, and limiter.
The low end power is even better than stock. It pulls away from stoplights just like stock, or better. At 2000 rpm it has 300lb tq. Plenty of power all the way across the powerband. I am honestly suprised this is not a more popular daily driver cam

So far, i have NO regrets of going with this cam on a car that will be driven 700 miles weekly, anyone undecided on a cam needs to look into the TR227

I shift at 6000 right now, i am kind of scared of shifting it that high, i was thinking no higher than 6500 being i have to have this car to get me to school everyday, (80 mile round trip). Maybe after some rod bolt some day.

And damn, what did you do to get mid 11's out of this cam. I see you have an auto with a stall, im sure that is a major part of it. What mods do you have?

OH BTW, im on a stock clutch, and i have gone 1300 miles since the cam. I must say, i am honeslty supirsed it has lasted this long. I have a ram powergrip HD, adj. master clinder, and slave cylinder all in the trunk waiting for install.
